The Ground-type is extremely great in Legends Z-A, and this tier list will rank all the best Ground Pokemon you should have on your team.

Ground-type Pokemon are extremely useful in Legends Z-A due to a multitude of reasons, and this tier list will take everything into account to categorize them accordingly. This list will take their stats, dual-typing, moveset, and more into account to determine their placement.
Disclaimer: Pre-evolved Pokemon will be considered in the same tier as their post-evolution forms. This is because you will eventually be using their evolved forms. The exception to this would be branching evolution paths, which will be classified separately. Moreover, this will also take their Mega Evolutions into account.
All Ground-Type Pokemon Tier List in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Here is the tier list for all the Ground-type Pokemon:
| Tier | Pokemon |
|---|---|
| S-Tier | Zygarde, Garchomp, Excadrill |
| A-Tier | Krookodile, Hippowdon, Camerupt |
| B-Tier | Steelix, Stunfisk, Diggersby |
| C-Tier | Pupitar* |
*Pupitar is a Rock/Ground-type, but it loses the Ground typing upon evolution into Tyranitar, and subsequently into Mega Tyranitar. Therefore, Tyranitar is not considered a part of this list.
S Tier

| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Zygarde | 600 BST (Base Stat Total) in 50% Forme, which shoots up to 708 in its Complete Forme. Furthermore, it has access to Mega Evolution, which increases this to 778. Extremely high Special Attack and HP, with lots of moves that ignore Type immunity. |
| Garchomp | 600 BST. Extremely high Attack stat (even more so after Mega Evolution) which lets it compete against any Pokemon. Moreover, it has extremely high stats in any category. |
| Excadrill | 508 BST. Same as Garchomp, it boasts extremely high Attack. On top of this, it has a great HP stat for tanking some hits as well. Although its Special Defense stat is lacking, it has a great Ground/Steel typing, which makes it resistant to eight types and immune to two. |
A Tier

| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Krookodile | 519 BST. This Pokemon cannot Mega Evolve; however, its stats on its own are dependable. It has a high enough Attack stat to deal damage, with good HP to survive as well. Moreover, you can also make it hold an item for extra effects. |
| Hippowdon | 525 BST. Hippowdon has high Attack, HP, and Defense. Although its Special Defense is lacking, you can easily fix this with an Assault Vest. |
| Camerupt | 460 BST. Camerupt really shines during Mega Evolution, with extremely high offensive stats and no defensive weaknesses as well. Stat-wise, it is only weak in Speed. Its glaring flaw would be its four times weakness to Water. |
B Tier
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Steelix | 510 BST. Steelix has extremely unbalanced stats, with most of it being invested into Defense. This makes it extremely fragile on the Special Defense side. This is somewhat made up during Mega Evolution, but is still not enough to carry this Pokemon a tier up. |
| Stunfisk | 471 BST. Unremarkable stats, with no particular strengths. You can use a good Held Item to increase its effectiveness in battle. |
| Diggersby | 423 BST. Extremely low Base Stat Total, with no single good stat. It evolves extremely quickly, making it decent for the early-game, but not later on. |
C Tier
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Pupitar | 410 BST. Mediocre stats all around the board, with nothing standing out. Although this is understandable, since it can still evolve into Tyranitar. |
That was the Ground-type tier list for all the best Ground Pokemon in Legends Z-A.
