Psychic-type Pokemon are extremely strong in Legends Z-A due to their long-range attacks, which make them optimal for sniping faraway targets. This tier list will take stats, Mega Evolution, dual-typing and more into account to sort them into a definitive tier list.

Disclaimer: Pre-evolved Pokemon will be considered in the same tier as their post-evolution forms. This is because you will eventually be using their evolved forms. The exception to this would be branching evolution paths, which will be classified separately. Moreover, this will also take their Mega Evolutions into account.

The best Psychic Pokemon are:

PokemonReasoning
Starmie520 BST (Base Stat Total). High offensive stats post Mega Evolution provide lots of attacking options to this Pokemon. On top of this, the Pokemon has high defensive stats as well, which makes it hard to kill.
Alakazam500 BST. Overwhelmingly high Special Attack makes it an absurd Special Attacker. Combine this with all the long-range Psychic-type moves, and you have a sniping Pokemon that can land knockouts from afar.
Gardevoir518 BST. Becomes a monstrous Special Attacker post Mega Evolution, while already being great in base. Along with that, it has access to a wide array of Special moves to fight from a range.
Gallade518 BST. The Physical counterpart to Gardevoir is an amazing Physical Attacker, and it does not suffer from a lack of good moves as well. Its defensive stats are also not lacking, making it a great choice for your team.
Delphox534 BST. The new Mega Evolution carries Delphox to new heights. The form gives Delphox a much-needed increase in Special Attack, which enables it to use its wide array of Special moves.
Metagross600 BST. Extremely great in almost any aspect. Great typing gives it a good set of resistances. Additionally, it has no weak stats. Additionally, it has a great set of moves to let it take advantage of its high Attack.

The A-Tier Psychic Pokemon are:

PokemonReasoning
Medicham550 BST. High Attack makes it a great Physical Attacker. However, it is held back by the lack of good Physical Psychic moves outside of Zen Headbutt.
Espeon525 BST. Espeon has a very high Special Attack stat; however, it is held back by two simple reasons. Its Defense stat is lacking, and it cannot Mega Evolve to further boost its stats. However, this can also prove to be a boon, as you can instead let it hold an item during battle.
Slowbro490 BST. It is lower on the stat ladder; however, it also has access to Mega Evolution to bump it up a few steps. Post Mega Evolution, it has a gigantic Defense stat and high Special Attack, too. Combined, these factors make Slowbro a good Psychic Pokemon.

B Tier

The B-Tier Psychic Pokemon are:

PokemonReasoning
Meowstic466 BST. This Pokemon could be justified in having a spot lower on the tier list. None of its stats stand out particularly. However, it does have a wide array of support moves, which make it more useful.
Malamar482 BST. Extremely low stats in its base form, which get increased due to Mega Evolution. However, even post-Mega Evolution, it doesn’t outpower some of the picks in a tier above.

C Tier

The C-Tier Psychic Pokemon are:

PokemonReasoning
Slowking490 BST. Unlike its counterpart, Slowking does not get access to Mega Evolution. This makes it drop some steps on the tier list. Moreover, none of its stats are particularly remarkable.
Galarian Slowking490 BST. Similar stats to Slowking. with slightly higher Special Attack to make it just slightly better, but not enough to land a higher spot.
Galarian Slowbro490 BST. This regional variant does not have access to Mega Evolution to make it better. Moreover, none of its stats particularly stand out, as it is well-rounded.
Alolan Raichu485 BST. Low stats are not the only reason for this Pokemon’s low placement. It also does not have any attacking Psychic-type moves.

That was the complete Psychic-type tier list for Legends Z-A, with all the best Psychic Pokemon in the game.
