In this PEAK guide, we shall go over how to cure zombie bites and unlock the Undead Encounter Badge in the game’s latest update.
PEAK has never been afraid of throwing hurdles at you, and the game’s latest update, Roots, takes the challenge up a notch with the likes of zombies and spiders. Zombies in PEAK are undead scouts who were infected by the fungi in the biomes. They were then resurrected with the power of the fungal growth and are now out to kill you. Even if you wished to avoid them, you can’t as they’re integral to unlocking the Undead Encounter Badge.
Dealing with these zombies isn’t easy, and getting bitten by one is inevitable. When one bites you, it may feel like the end of the world, but hold trust that it isn’t. There is a way to cure zombie bites in PEAK, even if the game doesn’t really tell you how to do so. How To Cure Zombie Bites in PEAK
You can cure zombie bites in PEAK by using any of the following items:
- Cure-All, which is an item that removes all status effects.
- Antidote removes all venomous fluids, including the zombie virus within you.
- Shroomberries, Medicinal Roots, or Mandrakes are items you can find in the Roots biome. You can consume any of these items to instantly heal.
Take note that you will turn into a zombie after you’re bitten. It won’t happen right away, but wait too long, and you will turn. As soon as you’re bitten, make it a point to seek out any of the aforementioned remedies. We suggest stocking up on these items ahead of time to stay ahead of the curve.

How To Unlock the Undead Encounter Badge in PEAK
The new zombies in PEAK are also tied to the Undead Encounter Badge in the game. To unlock this badge, you have to get bitten by a zombie, use the cure to save yourself, and then complete a run. Getting bitten by a zombie is a fairly straightforward process. You’ll find the undead all about the floor in the Roots biome. Walk up to their bodies to trigger them, and they’ll then chase you to bite. Once you’re bitten, you can then use any of the cures we shared above. Cure yourself and finish the run to unlock the badge.
