Europa Universalis 5 – Best Settings To Play at 4K
If you are using an AMD GPU, such as a 16GB card like the RX 9060 XT, you will need to reduce the settings significantly. This is because you will run out of computing power with these options. However, if you are on GPUs such as the RTX 5070 Ti, RX 7900 XTX, or RX 9070 XT, then these settings will translate perfectly.
There is noticeable shimmering in trees, houses, characters, and many other areas. At 4K, using DLSS helps in clearing this up, but it can cause CPU-bound issues if you push the upscaler too far. That said, the game uses the CNN model by default, and you have the option to utilize the transformer model via DLSS Swapper or the Nvidia app.
Unfortunately, if you are encountering frame drops on your GPU, you are limited to Nvidia GPUs. The game doesn’t support any other upscaling than DLSS. So lowering the options on other GPUs is the only way out.
