ARC Motion Cores are rare topside materials essential for crafting high-tier weapons and gear as they are required to upgrade the Refiner to level 2 and 3. A higher level Refiner can in turn help craft the upgrade materials needed to upgrade other Workshop stations. ARC Motion Cores therefore become a key resource for progressing up the tech tree of Arc Raiders.

Unlike most topside materials, the ARC Motion Core doesn’t have a location tag, which means you can’t find it in specific areas. Listed below are all the methods by which you can obtain ARC Motion Cores.

ARC Machines

Surveyor

Ball-shaped ARC machines, Surveyors are hard to find, with only one spawning per match in most cases. What makes hunting down the Surveyor even harder is that it rolls away from players, actively avoiding them. However, a blue beam in the sky marks its location, making it seem like a moving treasure chest that most players would want to track down. If you manage to destroy one, there is a good chance you will find ARC Motion Cores by looting it.

ARC Probes

You can pry open grounded ARC Probes to find ARC Motion Cores. They look like crashed white rocket drones and are spread out over maps like Utility Crates. You can find 3 ARC Probes to the west of the Electrical Substation and 5 ARC Probes in and around the Red Lakes area in the Dam Battlegrounds map.

ARC Bosses

All ARC bosses have a chance to drop ARC Motion Cores. Hunt down the Bombardier, Bastion, Leaper (Bison), Rocketeer, and Queen to secure ARC Motion Cores.

Crafting

Once you have upgraded the Refiner to Level 3, you can craft ARC Motion Cores using 6 Arc Alloys. However, the Refiner upgrade itself requires ARC Motion Cores, which means you’ll have to continue hunting ARC machines until reaching Refiner III.

With the upgraded Refiner, you can combine 2 ARC Motion Cores and 2 Advanced Mechanical Components to create a Magnetic Accelerator. The Magnetic Accelerator is an Epic-grade resource required to craft some of the best guns in Arc Raiders. Recycling an ARC Motion Core will yield 2 ARC Alloys, and is generally unadvisable.
