Before you can make any upgrades to your weapons in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, you will need to farm Zonaite Steel. This is a valuable resource that can only be harvested from completed challenges or defeating stronger enemies. It is worth noting that there are multiple variants to accommodate the different types of weapons.

For example, you cannot use a Zonaite Steel on a one-handed weapon if it is labelled as a two-handed variant. There are other ways to farm this metal, such as discarding older weapons from your inventory. However, expect the quality and quantity to be less than the normal amount of what you usually get.

You will also come across Seals from Zonaite Boxes. These can be used for a second run in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and as a form of weapon upgrade. We recommend saving these for the right moments.
