Learn how to complete Ambush in the Depths in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment with battle tips and rewards.
You will start the Ambush in the Depths quest during Chapter 4 in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, right after The Counterstrike mission. In this quest, you have to move underground and take control of the Knight Construct. Your goal is to strike enemy forces hidden deep below Hyrule while the sages handle the surface battle. The level is set at 39, so it is tougher than earlier stages.
How To Complete Ambush in the Depths in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
At the start, you have specific Zonai devices ready for use. The Cannon is your main weapon for breaking through Stone Taluses or any hard barriers. The Frost Emitter freezes smaller enemies, and the Rocket lets you rush through crowds when you need a fast clear. Switching between them depending on the situation helps a lot.
During the first part, fly through the tunnels while fighting off groups of enemies. Watch out for Rock Octoroks on the walls since they like to shoot projectiles when you least expect it. Whenever you see a red flash, prepare to dodge because it means an attack is coming your way. Use the Cannon for large enemies and the Frost Emitter or Rocket for groups that rush in.
Keep an eye out for cracked walls. Only the Cannon can destroy them, and missing even one might block your route. The key is to stay calm and shoot smartly rather than firing nonstop.
Once you complete the flight, the battle switches to the ground. Here you face the Black Hinox, a massive enemy with a single weak point in its eye. Aim your arrows there for quick stuns, then move in with melee attacks.
If the Hinox wears steel armor, use electric weapons. If it wears wooden armor, use fire attacks. Each hit slowly brings down its health, but what really helps is the Weak Point Gauge. Fill it by landing perfect dodges or using your unique skills, then break it completely to perform a strong finishing move.
Your Zonai energy drains fast during this fight, so do not waste it. Use the Cannon when needed and swap to other devices when smaller enemies appear. Keep your remaining energy in check for emergencies, especially near the end of the fight.
Ambush in the Depths in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment Quest Rewards
This quest doesn’t really provide any specific rewards, but you can collect a lot of items throughout the mission based on your level. It gives you experience points, upgrade materials, and trophies from big enemies like the Black Hinox.
Once you finish this quest, you move closer to the next mission called Purging the Shadows. You might even find Korok Seeds hidden during the mission, so explore carefully before leaving the area.
