Armor King is the latest character to join the roster of Bandai Namco’s 3D fighter, Tekken 8. Nicknamed Dark Supernova, the heel wrestler has joined the fight to take revenge against the man who killed his brother.

Armor King is one of the classic characters of the game, with his story intertwining with King and Craig Marduk. The dark wrestler in Tekken 8 brings back his classic kit along with some new moves up his sleeve. Although Armor King works as a pseudo-nemesis to King, both of them share key attacks and grapples. In this article, we will break down Armor King’s key moves and grabs you should be using in Tekken 8.

Best 5 Armor King Moves in Tekken 8

1. Dark Smash

The Dark Smash, or classically called the Dark Upper, is one of Armor King’s signature moves in his kit. This move works in multiple situations. It can be used as an incredible whiff punish move as well as a combo starter for high damage. Dark Upper works as a Mishima WGF (Wind God Fist), coming out from a wavedash, but without an option for a just frame input.

2. Bastard Rush

Like most of Armor King’s moves, the Bastard Rush also has multiple use cases. Since it is a two-hit string, the first hit can be used just to chip away at your opponent’s health in neutral. Moreover, the next hit can be used either as a counter hit move for a heat engager or a tornado combo extender. Bastard Rush is particularly useful against button mashers, as it will interrupt their moves.

3. Black Rain of Hell

Black Rain of Hell is a grab that you perform at the wall. This requires the opponent to be wall splatted first, be it during a combo ender or by a wall launcher move. This renders your opponents defenseless at the wall while Armor King spits poison gas in their face and then stomps them. Black Rain of Hell works as a consistent combo ender at the wall with decent damage to match it.

4. Bad Jaguar

Bad Jaguar isn’t a move in itself but a stance with multiple moves. This is a new stance in Armor King’s arsenal. Moreover, Bad Jaguar Stance has a built-in punch parry during its startup frames. The parry will automatically counter any punches with his poison gas, making the follow-up throw unbreakable. Bad Jaguar can be used to stop strong pressure and gain back momentum.

5. Outbreak Villain

A powerful move that is only available when Armor King activates Heat. Outbreak Villain consumes the heat meter with every use but in return gives a lot of advantage. Firstly, on hit, it works as a high-damaging combo starter at the wall. Second, it provides plus frames on the block, which means it’s still your turn to attack.

Outbreak Villain is a very underrated move for the advantages it provides and sometimes even flies under the radar of seasoned Armor King players. However, it’s a very linear move, so make use of it sparingly. It is easily side-steppable, so make sure to condition your opponents to stand and block first before spamming this move.
