Electromagnetic Storm Overview in Arc Raiders
During electromagnetic storms, there are fewer active return points. Depending on the night, two extraction points will be shut down, making your escape more difficult. There will also be no access to hatches, making hatch keys useless. These lightning strikes are relentless, causing damage to anyone brave enough to venture out in the open, whether players or Arcs. They will annihilate smaller Arcs, stun larger ones, and destroy your shields along with a significant portion of your health.
It is easy to spot the next AoE caused by a lightning strike. When outside, if you see sparks flickering around a small section of the ground, rest assured the next strike will land there. Keep a good distance to avoid taking damage. The best course of action is to stay indoors, but unfortunately, that idea will cross the minds of all the raiders. So expect some intense PvP action in any indoor setting.
How To Exploit the Electromagnetic Storm
One of the best aspects of the Electromagnetic Storm is how loud the night becomes. The constant flow of lightning strikes across the map acts as perfect cover. This helps disorient nearby Arcs, making it harder for them to detect your footsteps when sprinting.
These lightning strikes are not only dangerous to you but also to the Arcs. You will notice an increased number of broken Arcs during your runs, reducing the number of enemies you need to hide from. You can also quickly collect Arc-based loot from them. Additionally, you can use the lightning strikes as an advantage during fights with larger Arc machines. If you are lucky, the strikes will stun them, making it easier for you to finish them off and collect the rewards.
