Paradox Pokemon return to VGC with the Regulation F format. These Pokemon have had a huge impact on the meta after their introduction, with mons like Flutter Mane even being a part of the 2025 Pokemon VGC Worlds winning team. So in this article let’s take a look at which of these Paradox Pokemon are likely to dominate the Regulation F meta.

Top Paradox Pokemon for Regulation F VGC

These Paradox Pokemon are likely to see the most use in the Regulation F meta:

5) Roaring Moon

Roaring Moon is an offensive powerhouse thanks to its high stats and Dragon/Dark typing. However, it prefers to Terastallize into a Flying-type and spam Acrobatics after it consumes its held Booster Energy. It can also provide Tailwind support for speed control as well. Roaring Moon does have some flaws, including a glaring 4x weakness to Fairy before it Terastallizes, so it needs team support for that.

4) Iron Crown

Iron Crown is a Pokemon that has decent at best stats and a Steel/Psychic typing, which isn’t as great as it once was. However, its signature move, Tachyon Cutter, is its main draw. This move hits twice for 50 each time and bypasses any accuracy checks. Also, if paired alongside Indeedee-F and its Psychic Terrain, it is a great spammer of Expanding Force.

3) Gouging Fire

Gouging Fire is an interesting Pokemon with a few useful traits both on offense and defense. Its Fire/Dragon typing has great defensive use, which it can further supplement with its signature move, Burning Bulwark, as a Protect-clone that causes burns. However, its Attack stat is poor for a Paradox Pokemon, with the only way it can boost its attack is with the not very impressive Howl. Although it can use Heat Crash as Fire STAB owing to its high weight, while Breaking Swipe can help lower the opponent’s Pokemon’s Attack. Gouging Fire also has Morning Sun for self-recovery.

2) Flutter Mane

Flutter Mane is so overwhelmingly powerful it can be compared to a Restricted Legendary that is somehow legal to use. It’s blazing fast and hits extremely hard on the Special side. This Paradox Pokemon has an amazing STAB combination in Ghost/Fairy, meaning its Shadow Balls and Moonblasts will eviscerate its foes. If that was not enough, it can even provide speed control with Icy Wind and Thunder Wave to help its teammates and has Taunt to shut down opposing support Pokemon.

Finally, while it can hold a Booster Energy like other Paradox Pokemon, it is decently flexible enough to try out other held items as well. This includes Choice Specs to further boost its Special Attack, Focus Sash to survive a move from full HP, or a Sitrus Berry for general recovery.

1) Raging Bolt

As good as Flutter Mane is, Raging Bolt has seen a lot more use when legal in VGC. It has a slightly higher Special Attack stat than Flutter Mane, which becomes relevant when you realize its signature Thunderclap is a priority move that it can spam with ease.

However, it also has great bulk, which in combination with its Electric/Dragon typing, lets it tank a lot of hits more easily. And just like Flutter Mane, it isn’t solely reliant on Booster Energy as a held item. It can use an Assault Vest to improve its special bulk, Leftovers for recovery each turn, or Life Orb to give its attacks a damage boost.
