Anno 117 Pax Romana is an exceptionally well-optimized game. Almost any entry-level card, such as the RTX 4060, can maintain a smooth 60 FPS without frame pacing or frame-time issues. The game features RT from the ground up and doesn’t change the look and feel, even if you disable it.

That said, the game offers multiple performance presets, but the performance you can achieve with them falls short.

With the RTX 4060, you can play at 1080p resolution with these settings. From the RTX 4060 Ti onwards, you can go for 1440p with these settings and enjoy the game. That said, with the RTX 4070, you can choose the High RT option instead of Medium. If performance drops, turn it back down to Medium.

On GPUs such as the RTX 4070 Ti and above, you can use these settings for 4K resolution. For RTX 4080 and higher cards, such as the RTX 4090, you can easily use the High RT option and enjoy the game.

If you don’t want to use DLAA because of the performance trade-offs, a great alternative is MSAA. You can start with MSAA 2x at 4K resolution and see how things fare. If you have FPS headroom, you can also try MSAA 4x; the image output will be incredibly sharp with this combination.
