Island Fertilities in Anno 117 Pax Romana basically refers to the resources you can find on the island of your choosing. This is a particularly important aspect of the game, as resources will be crucial to creating a thriving nation. For example, a residence demands certain needs to be fulfilled, and if you do not have the necessary items for that on your island, your population will stop growing, and your City will become stagnant.

This is why choosing the right island to start your Anno 117 playthrough is crucial. So far, you get two choices: Cudslip and Cragmore. Let us now discuss the pros and cons of both of these lands.

Which Island Should You Choose in Anno 117 Pax Romana?

You will get a lot of island options in Anno 117 Pax Romana’s Sandbox mode, but in the story mode, you can either start with Cudslip or Cragmore. While the choice is a matter of personal preference, objectively, Cudslip seems like a better option out of the two. It has more land and is easier to control compared to Cragmore, which has more Marsh. Thus, building a civilization and a nation would be easier on the former than the latter.

Don’t worry, this choice is not set in stone, because even if you start with Cudslip, you can sell to Cragmore afterwards and settle there by paying 10,000 Denarii, and vice versa.
