Where Winds Meet is best enjoyed with friends. The game has several multiplayer features, and to get a complete experience, you have to play the MMO elements.
To play multiplayer, you first have to switch from solo to online mode in-game from the menu. This will switch your Lone Wanderer mode in single player to Shared Journey for multiplayer. In this co-op guide, we discuss how to unlock multiplayer and play with friends in Where Winds Meet.
How To Play Co-Op in Where Winds Meet
Co-Op is a multiplayer feature that has to be unlocked first in Where Winds Meet. This can be done by progressing the main story first and finishing the tutorial section of the game and then traveling to the Qinghe part of the map.
There, you will encounter an NPC named Qi Sheng who collects Oddities in the north of the Verdent Wilds region. Accept his quest and head towards the nearest General’s Shrine to unlock the Co-Op feature. Finally, you will be able to access the Social menu, which includes Co-Op features like Partnership, Friend, Team, etc.

How To Add Friends in Where Winds Meet
Once the Co-Op features are on, you can add friends. This allows you to participate in activities such as boss battles, PvP, sects, raids, and more. To add friends to your game and experience the multiplayer features, check out the following steps:
- Navigate to Social from the main menu
- Select Friends and open Add Friends
- Enter a friend’s name or in-game ID to add them
You can also share your ID with your friends to join their game. Do this by clicking on share, which displays your in-game ID. It will let you join your friends’ games more efficiently than simply searching for their names.
Lastly, you can only invite up to three people at a time, and all those players must not already be part of a team.
