How to Beat Elder Jinchi in Black Myth Wukong
The best way to beat Elder Jinchi in Black Myth Wukong is by attacking him with Varied Combos, using Immobilize Spell, and avoiding attacks with and perfect dodge. The boss fight is not very special and is very similar to the Wandering Wight Boss Fight in mechanics. However, the Elder Jinchi fight feels much easier than the Wandering Wight.
Elder Jinchi Boss Mechanics
You will first notice that the main arena is filled with countless NPCs. These creatures will give you healing when you kill them, and they can be killed with a single strike from whatever staff you are wielding. This makes health the least of your concerns in this fight.
Elder Jinchi is a melee boss for the most part, and will mostly leap and stomp on you, using sweeping attacks. He will also bash you with his head sometimes. All attacks can be dodged easily, and the leap-stomp combo seems to do the maximum damage if you are hit by it. Other than that, Elder Jinchi also has one ranged attack where he charges his hands and unleashes an aura attack. The boss also uses this in combo with his stomps sometimes.
In terms of mobility, Elder Jinchi is on the slower side. He has one AoE attack where he punches the ground which then pulsates three times in quick succession, and another fourth time after a short delay.
Elder Jinchi Boss Fight Second Phase
Although Elder Jinchi is not exactly a phased boss fight in Black Myth Wukong, he will float in the air and become invincible for a while once his health drops down below the halfway mark. This is his healing phase. He will not attack you in this form, but the NPCs around the arena will walk towards him and heal him instead. You can hit them to stop Elder Jinchi’s heals, although it is not possible to stop all of them.
After the healing phase, Elder Jinchi will have one new attack up his sleeve, where he commands the NPCs in the arena to run at you and then explode, causing significant damage. While the damage from one explosion is not a lot, since these enemies come in flocks, they can deal a decent chunk of damage if you are hit by them. You need to save healing from your Gourd for this moment specifically.
Best Strategies for Defeating Elder Jinchi
Elder Jinchi in Black Myth Wukong can be attacked at any time since he is low on the danger level. However, the best time to attack him would be after he has used up any combo. For a few seconds after using combos, Elder Jinchi will be idle and you should sweep in as much damage as possible in this timeframe. Using a combination of Immobilize and Resolute Strike from the Smash Stance can easily deal lots of damage in a single combo.
Being a fight that is not reliant on healing at all, resource management overall is easy when it comes to Elder Jinchi boss fight. You can ideally win this fight without expending any mana as well. However, that would take a bit of time. When you tackle this fight, immobilize and transformation will be the only special skills available to you. Simply use them in proper rotation and get as many attacks in while you are transformed. Conserve your mana to immobilize him whenever you deem fit and use your Varied Combos to finish him off easily.
