If you do not defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong, you will gain him as an ally in the fight against Duskveil.
The Scorpionlord is one of the many bosses you encounter in Black Myth: Wukong. Since it is a boss-rush game, you may get a strong urge to defeat this boss when you encounter it. However, not fighting him may work in your favor when defeating one of the strongest bosses in the game.
In this article, we will explain whether you should defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong. We will explore both outcomes. The Scorpionlord will die either way. It’s only a matter of when and at whose hands.
The Scorpionlord Encounter Explained
The Scorpionlord is a boss that you will encounter in the secret Purple Cloud Mountain area in Chapter 4. Unlike most other bosses who will start attacking you on sight, The Scorpionlord will remain sulking even if you approach him.
The gigantic scorpion-shaped boss rests atop a rooftop enjoying his wine, and he will simply tell you to leave him be and pass the area without causing any trouble. There are two options here – you can either walk away and ignore him, or you can initiate a fight with him.
In case you like the challenge and want to fight The Scorpionlord, simply destroy the wine containers in front of the house. This will enrage the boss, and he will immediately attack you. Be prepared for a tough fight because The Scorpionlord is easily among the most aggressive bosses in Black Myth: Wukong.
What Happens if You Don’t Defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong?
If you don’t defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong, the boss will become an ally during your fight against Duskveil, the final boss in Purple Cloud Mountain. It will be a two-phase fight. As such, you will want to get past the first phase saving as much of your resources as possible. This is where The Scorpionlord will help you.
If you have spared The Scorpionlord, the boss will join you in the fight against Duskveil in its first phase. You will have the option to attack both bosses, but The Scorpionlord will only be taking aggro against Duskveil. However, Duskveil will always defeat The Scorpionlord, and it will count towards your boss kills.
The Scorpionlord will do a significant amount of damage to Duskveil’s first phase before dying. You can simply stand in one corner of the arena and watch the two bosses fight each other. It is important to note that once Duskveil defeats The Scorpionlord, you will not be able to go back and fight the latter at all.
What Happens if You Defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong?
If you defeat The Scorpionlord, you will have to do both phases of the Duskveil boss fight alone in Black Myth: Wukong. This can be a bit tiring because Duskveil is tanky and a very aggressive boss, especially in his second phase. Moreover, Duskveil’s attacks in the first phase can take out a significant chunk of your health.
Should You Beat The Scorpionlord?
You should not defeat The Scorpionlord in Black Myth: Wukong if you want an easier fight against Duskveil. Simply let him be, and then watch the boss fight it out against the behemoth Duskveil in the region finale. However, if you like the challenge and want to defeat the bosses individually, follow the normal flow of the game and defeat The Scorpionlord when you encounter him in the game.
