Instead of waiting for Baldur’s Gate 4 to arrive sometime in the future, here are five of the best games you can try right now to relive Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 leaves quite the impression. After spending dozens and dozens of hours trudging through the Forgotten Realms, you feel a void once you are done with the game. You miss dealing with the Goblins, making vital choices that impact the storyline, and completing the myriad quests.
If you have finished playing Baldur’s Gate 3 but would love to experience it all over again, we have some recommendations for you. The following games are just like Baldur’s Gate 3.

1) Divinity Original Sin 2
Perhaps the most fitting entry on this list, Divinity Original Sin 2, developed by Larian Studios, laid the blueprint and foundation for what Baldur’s Gate 3 would eventually become. The game is extremely similar to BG3, offering the same level of depth in characters and quests. It presents a few un-escapable difficult choices. The best part is you can get it for fairly cheap right now!
2) Diablo 4
Diablo 4 is an isometric hack-and-slash action RPG, which offers a nice change of pace from the turn-based combat of Baldur’s Gate 3. However, much like BG3, Diablo 4 places a great amount of emphasis on exploration, rewarding players who search every nook and cranny. Both games share a fantasy setting, though Diablo 4 is slightly darker, much like the final Act of BG3.
3) Pathfinder Kingmaker
If the party aspect of Baldur’s Gate 3 is what appealed to you, Pathfinder Kingmaker is the game you should play. It has a party-based combat system where you give commands to members of your party. The combat happens in real time, so all decisions you make must be swift. Both games share a high fantasy setting.
The isometric style of gameplay sells itself so we need not dwell on that. Much like BG3, Pathfinder Kingmaker also features up to four-player co-op, so you can always grab a few friends and go on a role-playing adventure together.
4) The Witcher 3
One of the definitive RPGs of the last decade, The Witcher 3 is an absolute gem of a game that you must play if you haven’t already. If what you liked about Baldur’s Gate 3 was its narrative and the endless possibilities each choice in the story seemed to present, then The Witcher 3 is for you. The story spans several locations and hundreds of characters. The world is steeped in rich lore, and each choice you make leads you down interesting paths.
5) Dragon Age Inquisition
The final game we’d recommend is Dragon Age Inquisition. While the entire Dragon Age series is worth playing, we chose Inquisition for this list due to its high fantasy setting, which bears close resemblance to the one in Baldur’s Gate 3. Both games prioritize player choice and customization, so fans of BG3 will likely find the game a perfect match.
