Note these tips in Enshrouded to gain Frost Resistance in the game and explore snowy places that you wouldn’t otherwise visit.
Enshrouded emphasizes the concept of gaining Frost Resistance in its latest update. The Souls of the Frozen Frontier update brings new locations and a weather system that we Flameborns must look out for.
One of these is the Frost mechanic. If you wish to explore the brand-new Albaneve Summits, make sure you don’t freeze on your trek up. If the cold catches players, they will receive Hypothermia, and the character will die almost instantly.
Frost Resistance was introduced to protect players from the cold environment and prevent Hypothermia. Some items and consumables grant this resistance, although they may be a bit tricky to find.
Note that +1 Frost Resistance will allow you to survive extreme cold for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Additional resistance items with their respective levels will stack, allowing you to continue your journey longer before risking Hypothermia.
Gaining Frost Resistance
A Pocket Heater will be a useful item in the harsh cold and is also easily obtainable. You can start your exploration with this and some consumables (more on that below). Head to the Hunter and complete a simple gathering quest she gives you to fetch Metal Sheet, Coal, and Reptile Leather. The latter two can be found in Albaneve Summits and Blackmire, respectively. This Pocket Heater will grant you +2 Frost Resistance.
As for Consumables, pack some Grilled Fatty Meat and Beef Stew, which grant +1 and +3 Frost Resistance, respectively. Don’t just reserve your food for emergencies—if you wish to extend your stay in the cold, use these packed meals to gain more resistance and complete your mission.
Obtain Frost Rings from defeated enemies and chests in Albaneve Summits. A Torch can also help you withstand the cold longer by boosting your Frost Resistance.
Lastly, don’t forget about Frost-resistant armor. You can craft sets like the Frostbite Slasher, Alpine Antler, and Trailblazer at the Hunter’s. The Blacksmith has sets like Mountains’ Shadow and Brazen Bull. Don’t ignore the Alchemist because you can gain access to the Hailcaster and PearlFrost Mentor sets. Each of these sets can give up to +11 Frost Resistance, extending your visit.
Combine all these techniques to increase your Frost Resistance in Enshrouded.
