Everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds’ Premium Deluxe Edition, and whether if it’s worth getting or not.
Monster Hunter Wilds is arguably one of the most highly anticipated games of 2025. Although the Monster Hunter series started as a niche action RPG, it slowly grew into a massive franchise with mainstream appeal.
With the latest title in the Monster Hunter series just a few months away from release, fans might be thinking of pre-ordering Monster Hunter Wilds. However, as is the case with any mainline Monster Hunter game, Wilds is offered in multiple different editions. Choosing which edition to pre-order can become a daunting task. Wilds is the very first Monster Hunter game to be released on current-generation systems. Naturally, the base game is priced at $70.
However, if you want to get access to every bit of additional content available for the game right from the get-go, you’ll need to shell out $110 for the Premium Deluxe Edition. But, is Monster Hunter Wilds’ Premium Deluxe Edition worth the extra $40? Or is it best to stick with the $70 Standard Edition? Let’s find out.

What Is Included in Monster Hunter Wilds Premium Deluxe Edition?
The Premium Deluxe Edition is essentially the highest tier of the digital editions available for Monster Hunter Wilds. Not only does it come with the exclusive Deluxe Kit, but also post-launch DLC cosmetics. Capcom has detailed two post-launch DLC packs for Monster Hunter Wilds. Both DLC packs will be included in the Premium Deluxe Edition.
It should be noted that the DLCs include nothing more than cosmetics and a few hairstyle options. The DLCs will be released in the Spring and Summer of 2025, alongside the usual post-launch title updates. Furthermore, following Monster Hunter Wilds’ release, all the DLC packs will be available to purchase separately.
Even if you buy the Standard or Deluxe Editions, you can still grab the DLC cosmetic packs later. That being said, here’s a breakdown of the different editions of Monster Hunter Wilds:

Is Monster Hunter Wilds Premium Deluxe Edition Worth Buying?
Although Monster Hunter Wilds Premium Deluxe Edition does offer plenty of additional cosmetics, it’s still not worth the extra $40. Yes, the promise of post-launch cosmetics and the Deluxe Kit is quite appealing.
However, it still doesn’t justify the $40 price tag, which is usually charged for a full-fledged expansion. For reference, Elden Ring’s recently released Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was priced at $40. Compared to that, the Premium Deluxe Edition add-ons don’t feel worth their asking price. Furthermore, all the DLCs that are included in the $110 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will be available to purchase separately.
As such, it’s not worth spending that huge sum right from the get-go. Unless you’re a diehard fan of the Monster Hunter franchise and have enough disposable income to spend on a single video game, you can skip the Premium Deluxe Edition. You aren’t missing out on much when sticking with the Standard Edition, apart from a few cosmetics.
