Before you get into the Drifting Devil mission itself, you need to make sure your team is well-prepared. You can choose Anita and Edo for your Rarities to take advantage of how well they synergize. However, other characters like Alex, Doni, and Tri are also on the table. Note that Julee is not available for this mission. You can also equip gear that enhances your speed and damage. Anita’s Burning Edge ability will be extremely crucial to dealing massive damage.

In the Drifting Devil mission, you take on Yin Yue, a formidable boss fight that takes place over four different phases. Given below are the breakdowns of what you should do during each phase of the Yin Yue boss fight:

Phase 1

The initial encounter begins in a confined area. When the fight begins, Yin Yue will unleash a few basic attacks and two unblockable, unparryable moves. These are signalled by a red flash. The boss might charge at you from a distance or perform a Lunging Strike when he’s close. You can dodge the charging attack by rolling to the side or switching to another character. Similarly, you can avoid the Lunging Strike by running away or switching characters.

To damage Yin Yue, you can use Edo’s Burning Edge and Angel Step combo. It is important to focus on the lesser Slitterheads around him first. Then, you can continue attacking Yin Yue.

Phase 2

After his health bar drops past the first blip, the boss will flee to the main street. Make sure to heal up and have both Rarities ready before you pursue Yin Yue. Once you catch up to him, you will find Yin Yue surrounded by normal, lesser, and little Slitterheads. You should focus on the lesser and little ones first to reduce chaos. Be wary of little Slitterhead that can inflict Level 2 Poison. It is advised to clear them out quickly to prevent your health from depleting rapidly.

Use the Burning Edge ability to handle the lesser Slitterheads and shift your focus back to Yin Yue. The boss will retain his previous attacks, so maintain your strategy to progress to the next phase.

Phase 3

Once you have depleted Yin Yue’s health further, the boss will drag you into the Abyss, a darker variant of the facility. During this phase, you will face Level 3 Corrosion Ward and Level 1 Stowing Ward. These ailments reduce weapon durability and movement speed, along with preventing skill use. You will then have to jump to your Rarity and navigate the tight corridors. The boss will repeatedly ambush you, and you can use normal attacks to take him down swiftly. Make sure to deal with fewer Slitterheads in the new area as you navigate the tight hallways.

Phase 4

For the final phase of the boss fight, you and the boss will return to reality with Yin Yue’s health extremely low. This is the final phase of the fight, and it is manageable but still requires precision. During this phase, Yin Yue uses the Blood Orb Field. This attack summons Blood Orbs that detonate after a short period. You can avoid these by maintaining distance. The boss will teleport frequently and use Blood Orbs to keep you away.

Use your different Rarities to close the distance and deal damage. You can use your Burning Edge ability to stagger Yin Yue. You can then unleash a barrage of attacks to finish the boss off. With that, we come to the end of the long-winded Drifting Devil boss fight in Slitterhead.
