How To Change Appearance in Atlyss

Atlyss allows you to customize your character’s appearance even in the middle of the game but it can be a little tricky to figure out.

When Atlyss starts, the players have full freedom to change the appearance of the protagonist completely. You are essentially making the character yourself, like many other RPGs. However, RPGs also tend to have an option to make cosmetic changes later on.

This option is pretty restricted in some games because you can only often make changes to the outer appearances of a character. As a result, transmogging was introduced, where players could change the look of a gear while keeping its original stats. However, Atlyss allows you to change your physical appearance as well.

If you think you have made some mistakes that you wish to alter or just want to change the way your character appears on screen, you can visit the Mirror of Illusion for the same.

In the middle of Sanctum, there is a building with the World Portal. The NPC Angela is also in a room in this building. Just visit her room, and head to the back of it. You will find a purple and gold mirror here. This is the mirror that can cast illusions. You can change everything related to physical appearance here, except the race of the character.

Each time players save changes to physical appearance here, it will cost them one Illusion Stone.

Illusion Stones aren’t found just about anywhere in the world of Atlyss. Instead, you may have to go specifically looking for them. The most common way to get them is by looting it from a defeated enemy or a valuable chest. These are usually found in high-level dungeons like the Veilshade Caverns in Shadowglade, Mirage Spire found via the Skyport in Solenor City, and Twilight Labyrinth in Moonveil Woods.

Another way of gathering these stones is by possessing a Magical Pickaxe or Runic Hammer and mining them from enchanted ore veins. Use a magic spell or an artifact like Enchant, Dispel, or Elemental Burst to weaken the ore before mining it. Crystal Caverns, Luminous Hollow, and Dreamstone Caverns contain spots where you can mine these stones.

Be on the lookout for special events like the Festival of Mirrors, Astral Alignment, and Veilbreaker Tournament. Apart from this, you can also help out some NPCs, and they may reward you with an Illusion Stone. Some special quests include Shattered Reflections in Moonveil Woods, Echoes of the Past at the Twilight Labyrinth entrance, and Veins of Light near Crystal Caverns. These are usually located in the same locations that we had previously discussed.

If you don’t wish to go on a long walk for a precious stone, visit Velastra the Enchanter in Solenor City, Garrick the Miner near Crystal Caverns, or Sylaris the Dreamwalker in Feywilds. If you are already at the Sactum, you can find one in Sally’s Store for 300 Crowns.

Those who are more independent can acquire a recipe by purchasing it from Velastra the Enchanter or Sylaris the Dreamwalker. You may also find it in some of the high-level dungeons. Once done, gather Dream Shards (3), Astral Dust (2), Essence of Light (1), and Basic Magical Crystal (5). Now, visit a runeforge or any Crafter to get your very own Illusion Stone.

These are the ways that you can use to finally change your appearance in Atlyss. Mark your priorities and use whatever method is feasible for you and requires less of your time.
