In August 2023, YouTuber and streamer Fousey, also known as Yousef Saleh Erakat, was banned from the streaming platform Twitch. The streamer was accused of exploiting a woman he met at the airport during a livestream. She was a victim and survivor of s*x trafficking, and this brought in a lot of backlash for Yousef.

Post this incident, Fousey reached out to Kick in a long message where he also mentioned that he was undergoing medical treatment. This situation brought in a lot of reactions. While some called him out for his behavior at the airport, others were concerned about him. Some said he needed immediate help, while others were glad that he was taking a break and moving to Kick as there was “no other option.”

Fousey’s journey on Kick has faced a lot of bans. In October 2024, he was banned on the streaming platform during his IRL Australia stream. He was seen attacking his manager and passing homophobic comments. As he was banned during his subathon, he revealed that he can’t move to Twitch either because of the exclusive contract with Kick. He said,

“Not even 48 hours into my 24/7 30 days, and Kick bans me. Out of respect for my contract with them, I can’t go to Twitch to continue.”

Post this incident, he was permanently banned from the platform when Kick’s CEO Eddie said, “No more Fousey, man. This isn’t good for anyone.” He made this statement after Fousey was seen talking about self-harm during a stream, which raised a lot of questions concerning mental health pressures faced by high-profile streamers.

He was later unbanned from the platform, and Eddie said that Fousey needs to “slow down” and take a step back.

Fousey Getting Swatted Live on Stream

On December 1, 2024, Fousey was swatted during a live stream on Kick. While streaming, Fousey saw a police vehicle outside his location and soon realized he was being swatted. Swatting is a dangerous prank where a person calls emergency services to a streamer’s location, falsely.

During the live stream, Fousey said, “That’s the f*cking police, man!” and his friend was there with him too, who also voiced her anger saying, “Y’all are the worst!” They both criticized those who were behind the hoax for causing unnecessary distress.

Later, a video surfaced on social media where Fousey was seen handcuffed and addressing his audience. He said,

“Yo, what’s up? I’m handcuffed right now, but you can’t stop G7. God has a bigger plan for us. I’m not a criminal.”

This incident has sparked numerous discussions in the community regarding the dangers of swatting. Fousey’s fans have shown concern and called for stronger measures in order to prevent such pranks from happening in the future.
