Finding the secret Magic Mosses Cave Door in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is the easy part. It is located just northwest of the area. Opening it is the challenge. You need to find a special item before you gain access to this area and claim the loot inside.
This is nothing new in Fortnite as the developers love adding secret locations with special loot waiting to be opened, and they don’t stay secret forever. As more people discover this location, you will find it harder to claim what’s inside.
Fortunately, it’s the start of a new season. This means, not many people are quite familiar with the additions in the map. They might also be unaware of the secret loot caves that contain rare items.

How To Open the Secret Magic Mosses Cave Door in Fortnite?
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to open the secret loot cave in Fortnite:
- While on the bus, drop down to the southeastern area of the Magic Mosses.
- Find an Air Sprite.
- Head to the shrine.
- Break the floor of the Shrine until you get to an underground cave.
- Equip the Air Sprite and walk towards the cove door.
- Enter the secret loot cave in Magic Mosses.

While on the Bus, Drop Down to the Northwest Area of the Magic Mosses.
Make sure you drop on the Magic Mosses area. While dropping down, point your path towards the area with Japanese-style houses.
Be careful when dropping down in this area. There will likely be people also looking to grab the loot inside the secret cave. Try and grab weapons and consumables first before proceeding to the next step.
Find an Air Sprite
You will need to interact with a totem first before you can spot these sprites. It’s usually marked on the map if you’re nearby so head towards it. You will have to find an Air Sprite that spawns around the area. They look like cute-looking fluffy clouds. When you find one of these, don’t use it yet. They are the key to opening the secret loot cave.
Of course, other people will also be looking for an Air Sprite. Ready your weapon and kill anyone who gets in your way.
They do have some practical use. If you place one on the ground, it can give you an extra jump boost. This will allow you to glide to travel faster or escape enemies. They can also damage vehicles or buildings.
Head to the Shrine in Magic Mosses
Find a small shrine and head inside. You’ll know it’s the right place when you spot a scroll with a picture of a flower hanging on the wall. It also has a wooden floor that can be destroyed.
There are also supplies scattered around the shrine so grab anything you can before proceeding. It’s best to be prepared at all times. In the early game, a lot of people are likely also looting the area or are waiting to ambush unsuspecting players.
Break the Floor of the Shrine Until You Get to an Underground Cave
You will notice how the floor can be destroyed with your pickaxe. Break the floor until you drop down an underground cave.
If you play in build mode, block the entrance with anything, preferably a metal floor to stop players from following you down the cave.
If the floor is already broken, ready your weapon as there might be people who got there first.
Equip the Air Sprite and Walk Towards the Cove Door
Once you are in front of the secret Magic Mosses cave door in Fortnite, walk straight while holding an Air Sprite. You’ll know it’s the right place when you see two turtle statues facing each other. If you follow the steps, the door will slide open, and you’ll find a chest inside
However, that’s not the only loot in the cave. There is more loot to grab once you head deeper into the area.
Enter the Secret Loot Cave in Magic Mosses
Notice how there’s a room behind a giant rock in front? You can try breaking it with your pickaxe. Once you destroy the giant boulder, you’ll unlock the deeper parts of the cave. Inside, you’ll find two more stone turtle statues and a ton of chests filled with rare loot.
You can even find a Void or Fire Oni Mask in these chests, which grant unique powers when used. There are enough supplies here to give you a head start in the early game. Be careful when heading back up. Ensure that you have full health and shield before leaving the area.
You can exit the cave by going inside the Port-a-Potties. You will be teleported outside and there might be other players waiting to steal your loot so be careful.
