The ending of Abiotic Factor left us with more questions than answers. Here we break down its ending.

The co-op survival game, Abiotic Factor, tests your patience, perseverance, and adaptability in an underground GATE Facility. GATE stands for Garrick Advanced Technology Enterprises and conducts research on Anomalies. You enter the game as an intern for a GATE underground facility in the Australian Outback and are caught in the middle of a catastrophic containment breach. As you fight mutants, rebels, and all sorts of hostiles in between, there is a rather gripping story in the game.
Holograms from the director, Dr. Derek Mance, and emails on various terminals in the facility slowly unfold the horrors that have taken place. Moreover, the ending of the Abiotic Factor story is open-ended, spectacular, and Lovecraftian. Let us walk you through the ending of Abiotic Factor in this article.

Incidents and Characters in Abiotic Factor That Lead to the Ending
Dr. Albert Cahn/IS-0012

Remember this GATE Senior Researcher who has apparently locked himself in a cell in Containment Block Baird? He is a key character who would help you to escape the facility once you free him by resetting the security system. Director Manse held Dr. Cahn in high esteem. Dr. Albert Cahn was the mind behind many of GATE’s early successes. The following were his thoughts on Dr. Albert Kahn:
Whether helping Dr. Stern isolate growth factors from Anteverse 42 entities, refining our understanding of IS-0017’s behavior, or ejecting IS-0107 into interstellar space, Dr. Cahn’s inquiring mind and incisive intellect earned him a respected position among the pure science staff at the GATE Cascade Research Facility.
He will always be with us.
Dr. Derker Manse is correct. However, this applies to the authentic Alber Cahn. The one you meet in the game is IS-0012, a shape-shifting entity with a treacherous, devastating, and ulterior motive.
IS-0117

This entity is the final boss in the game. It is also known as the Wayseeker and has birthed Exors. You will fight IS-0117 in Albatross, a GATE Portal World. Dr. Cahn, aka IS-0012, shows suspicious sympathy towards IS-0117, going as far as calling it benign.
The Ending of Abiotic Factor

Albatross is situated at a place where the concentration and the reserve of tachionic forces are the highest in the world. The elusive IS-0012 has lured you to the top of a hill, where a slab of stone depicts a ritual. The ritual summons the Wayseeker, aka IS-0117, from the sea. After its Cthulhu-like entrance, you must engage in a long and arduous battle with this Eldritch entity. This was the plan of IS-0012 all along.
The Wayseeker, once defeated, taps into the tachionic force reserves near Albatross and causes a massive perforation force rift across our world, allowing creatures of countless Antiverses to invade our world. At this point, the treacherous IS-0012 appears before you with a sinister grin on his face. He thanks you for executing his plan and hints that he is working for a higher force before disappearing and essentially commencing the Apocalypse.
As you see the effusion of uncontrollable perforation force in the distance, you can freely move around in Albatross. Only Lenora Riggs and Janet are there with you.
