The co-op survival game, Abiotic Factor, throws many challenging enemies at you. Reapers, aka IS-0059, will spawn donning a sinister black cloak, with a pair of scythes emerging from beneath it. Encountering a Reaper at night in Abiotic Factor is a scary experience. In this article, we will discuss how to take down a Reaper in Abiotic Factor.

Appearance and Hunting Mode

Once a Reaper sets its sight on you, it will initiate its ‘hunting’ state and take an even more deadly form. It will pull back its cloak and fully reveal the two scythe-like arms, with a white light radiating from its obscure ‘face.’

Taking on a Reaper
You must be stealthy while dealing with a Reaper. Having a flashlight on you will save a lot of trouble. Reapers cannot sense light, and flickering beams will notify you when one is nearby.
If it catches you, you’ll get teleported to The Night Realm, the same eerie place you’d reach through an orange portal. It is creepy, sure, but not quite life-threatening. Moreover, the IS-0059 doesn’t follow you there. However, if you use the X-Ray Lamp on it, the Reaper wouldn’t just grab you but try to kill you.
The Reaper cannot be killed, but you can still make it back off. Landing a shot on it with an Energy Pistol or Environmental Lasers will make it disappear, even when it’s on the attack. It will reappear after some time in a neutral state. Hopping into an orange portal and returning from the Anteverse will also reset the Reaper.
This is the dangerous part—Reapers get strong cumulatively. The more often you hit it with Lasers, the more hits are required to make it vanish. However, this “Laser count” occurs after you leave the Security Sector.
Additionally, a Slushie Bomb stuns these creatures. This will now reset them, though.
