You can obtain a Diode by trading Axle Grease with the Blacksmith NPC. The best spot to find Axle Grease is the Train portal world. Additionally, you can acquire the item in the Canaan, Hydroplant, and Reactors sectors.

Once you have the Axle Grease in your inventory, take the tram and head to the Forge in Manufacturing West. The Blacksmith is located inside a building in the Forge area. Drop an Axle Grease in the box in front of the Blacksmith. You will receive a Diode in return from the Trader Output.

How To Use Diode in Abiotic Factor

Diode is primarily used in crafting. The high-tech laser diode serves as a key component in Lantern, a light-emitting tool, and Makeshift NVGs, a night vision gadget. Beyond its use in crafting, Diode also plays a crucial role in story progression. It is used to repair one of the three electron pumps for the Synchrotron. Repairing these pumps is necessary to advance to the next zone, Cascade Laboratories. You will also require an Optic Lens and a Fiber Optic Cable alongside a Diode to repair the electron pumps.
