Learn how to acquire Fibre Optic Cable in Abiotic Factor, an essential item needed to repair the Synchrotron pumps.
After finishing your business in the Office Sector in Abiotic Factor, your next destination will be Manufacturing West. While exploring this zone, you will eventually reach the Synchrotron. To progress further and gain access to Cascade Laboratories—the next area of the game—you must fix three electron pumps for the Synchrotron.
This requires three specific materials, one of which is the Fibre Optic Cable. Unlike most resources in the game, Fibre Optic Cable cannot be farmed traditionally. Instead, you must trade a specific item with an NPC to obtain it.

How To Acquire Fibre Optic Cable in Abiotic Factor
Fibre Optic Cable can be obtained by trading Solder with the Blacksmith, an NPC located in Manufacturing West. You can find him at the Forge area—resembling a warehouse—within the Manufacturing West. To trade a Solder, drop the item in the box in front of the Blacksmith. In return, you will receive one Fibre Optic Cable per Solder.
In addition to Fibre Optic Cable, you will also require Optic Lens and Diode to repair the Synchrotron pumps. Luckily, you can acquire both of them from the Blacksmith by trading Reinforced Hose and Axle Grease, respectively. Once you have gathered all three materials, repair the electron pumps and make your way through the Cascade Laboratories.
Additionally, you can also use Fibre Optic Cable to craft recipes like GATE NVGs and Healing Briefcase.
Obtaining Solder
To make a Solder, you need three items— Cooking Pot, Silver Scrap, and Metal Scrap. Start by filling the Cooking Pot with clean water and place it in a portable stove. Add Silver Scrap and Metal Scrap, then cook the mixture. Once done, it will yield a Pot of Solder, allowing you to scoop 4x Solder.
