As you explore Manufacturing West, the game’s second zone, you will eventually be tasked with repairing three electron pumps for the Synchrotron. Repairing these pumps is essential for progression, as it grants access to the next area, Cascade Laboratories. You will require three different parts to repair the three pumps, with the Optic Lens being one of them. Some essential items in the game, such as the GATE Security Key, can be acquired by trading with NPCs.

How To Obtain Optic Lens in Abiotic Factor
To acquire the Optic Lens, you need to trade a specific item called Reinforced Hose with the Blacksmith. You will find the Blacksmith inside a warehouse-like area called Forge within Manufacturing West. Drop the Reinforced Hose in the box in front of the Blacksmith, and you will receive an Optic Lens in return at a 1:1 ratio.
Use the Optic Lens, along with Fiber Optic Cable and Diode, to repair the three Synchrotron pumps. Both Fiber Optic Cable and Diode can also be obtained from the Blacksmith by trading Solder and Axle Grease, respectively. In addition to repairing the pump, the Optic Lens is also used to craft a variety of items such as Photon Receptor, Laser Power Converter, Laser Reflector, Magbow, Makeshift Binoculars, and Makeshift Headlamp.
Crafting Reinforced Hose
You will unlock the recipe for Reinforced Hose by picking up Steel Cable. Then you can craft a Reinforced Hose at the crafting bench using the following items:
- Hose (1): Found by breaking Manufacturing Wood Crates and Mine Crates.
- Steel Cable (1): Obtained by smashing Mine Crates or by exploring the mines area of Manufacturing West and The Train.
- Box of Screws (1): Acquired through crafting using 2 Metal Scrap or by breaking Manufacturing Wood Crates.
