Refined Carbon is one such resource that you need a lot of during the mid-game part. It can be used to craft various items such as Alpha Helmet, Battery (Carbon), Bionic Legs, Carapace Gauntlets, Carbon Plating, Lab Burner, Large Shelf, Rebar Bolt, Tech Sceptre, Water Filter, and X-Ray Tower. How To Farm Refined Carbon in Abiotic Factor
You can acquire Refined Carbon in several different ways. These grey-colored spheres can be found as you progress toward the Cascade Laboratories. Carbon Analysis Machines—appear as a blue and white box—drop Refined Carbon upon breaking. You can find these machines throughout the Adjustment Wing on level 3, as well as Rise.
However, there is another way to get a steady supply of Refined Carbon. The Refined Carbon Exchangers allow you to farm unlimited Refined Carbon, as long as you have a steady supply of Silver Scrap. Luckily, you will find one near the main Adjustment Wing lobby. As you enter the laboratories tunnel, follow the blood trail, which leads you to a staircase. Ascend the stairs, and you will find the Refined Carbon Exchangers in the Cellular Lab. For every Silver Scrap you deposit in the exchanger, you’ll receive one Refined Carbon in return. Alternatively, you can also earn Refined Carbon by scrapping a Lump of Coal.
Farming Silver Scrap
To continuously farm Refined Carbon, you will need a lot of Silver Scrap. A reliable spot is the Train portal world, which can be accessed through the northwest tram station in Manufacturing West. Since the Portal worlds like Train reset over time, they are ideal for farming abundant Silver Scrap. Search the area thoroughly for Pocket Watches and silverware. While the silverware provides Silver Scrap, the Pocket Watches give Exquisite Chains. You can then salvage the Exquisite Chains into Silver Scrap.
