As such, you will need to craft a variety of items in your base, and it’s also where you’ll store many of your valuable resources. However, your base isn’t a safe haven. It can also come under attack, and these sudden threats might leave you scrambling for cover. That’s why the location you choose to build your base is important. You need to find a spot that’s easy to defend.

Best Base Locations in Abiotic Factor
The following are just some of the locations that can be ideal spots to build your base.
Security Office
This is by far the most popular base location in the game, primarily due to the fact that there’s a main gate you can lock. This alone offers greater security and defense than any other tactic you use. Similarly, you can also use the built-in power in this spot, which means you won’t need to worry about powering your equipment separately. To top it all off, the location also offers easy access to nearby resources. All you really need to do is barricade the back door with sandbags to prevent intruders from barging in.
Cafeteria
Early in the game, the Cafeteria might serve as a great spot for your base. It’s located centrally, which means you can easily access several facility zones from here. Other than that, there are restrooms nearby and power outlets, all of which prove highly useful for your base operations. You can begin your base setup here and then shift to a more defensible location later in the game.

Pool and Gym
If you want to focus more on farming, your best option is to set up your base in the Pool and Gym section. Because of its proximity to the pool, you get plenty of dirty water from the source, which you can then purify easily. The open space in this location also makes it a perfect spot for your farming pursuits. However, keep in mind that this location isn’t nearly as defensible or safe as the Security Office.
Containment Control
Perhaps the easiest base location to defend is Containment Control. That’s because this spot comes with built-in turrets, which can shred any intruders. So, if you want to build a hub that doesn’t force you into combat situations, we suggest this location.
