Find out how to unlock the Disc Thrower in Abyssus, a powerful, advanced weapon built for pure destruction.
In DoubleMoose Games’ roguelite title Abyssus, players dive into a sunken kingdom as Brinehunters. While exploring the different levels, you will unlock new weapons that make future runs easier and unique. While some weapons can be unlocked as a part of progression, that’s not the case for Disc Thrower (The Sharp Weapon).
It is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, though it will not be suitable for beginners because of its complex mechanics. The weapon fires a series of discs towards enemies that return to you after hitting enemies. You can also enhance its effects further with lightning arcs or explosions, causing mayhem. Its secondary mod also lets you shoot three discs at a time. However, such a powerful weapon can be easily missed if you don’t know its location.
This guide explains how you can unlock the Disc Thrower in Abyssus, adding the Sharp Weapon to your arsenal.

How To Get the Disc Thrower in Abyssus
To obtain the Disc Thrower, you need to solve a hidden puzzle in Act 2. You will encounter the puzzle in a room after defeating the boss of Act 2, Stage 4 (Depth 8). Inside the room, you will find a locked red door covered with cryptic symbols. To open it, you need to complete the crystal puzzle by destroying four red glowing crystals hidden throughout the room. Look thoroughly through every corner and opening in the room, and you will eventually spot them. If you are having a hard time locating the crystals, you can find them in the following locations:
- Crystal #1: Inside the grating just left of the locked door.
- Crystal #2: Inside the grating on the right side of the pond
- Crystal #3: Inside the vertical grating at the top before the exit.
- Crystal #4: Inside the upper right grating in front of the locked door.
You can shoot and break the crystal in any order. Once you have destroyed all four crystals, the door will unlock and let you pass. Enter the tunnel beyond the door, and you will find the Disc Thrower inside, near a corpse with a journal.
