In this guide, we’ll take a look at how you can get your hands on the Bursting Weapon in Abyssus, AKA the Shotgun.
Abyssus is a roguelite that lets you unlock a variety of weapons as you progress through the game. Some of these might have certain unlock requirements that take you multiple runs to complete. Thankfully, not every weapon takes that long to reach your inventory. The Bursting Weapon in Abyssus is a prime example of this.
Also known as the Shotgun, this powerful weapon can help you dispatch enemies quickly at close range. Like all other weapons in the game, the Bursting Weapon also has primary and secondary fire modes. In the following guide, we’ll explore how you can unlock the Bursting Weapon in the game and its different firing modes.
How To Get the Bursting Weapon in Abyssus

You won’t have access to the Bursting Weapon in the initial parts of the game. You can only unlock it once you progress to Act 1 Stage 2. Once you’re here, fight through all of the enemies to finally reach the miniboss at the end of the stage. You will need to defeat this boss to finally get your hands on the Shotgun. After getting it, you need to familiarize yourself with the gun’s firing modes.
How To Use the Bursting Weapon in Abyssus
The following are some of the weapon’s stats:
- Firing rate: 1.5 shots/second
- Magazine size: 6
- Pellet damage: 30 x 8 every hit
- Firing type: Semi-auto
Besides the primary fire mode, the weapon features a secondary mode too. With the secondary fire, you can hit all enemies within the Shotgun’s range simultaneously by a single pull of the trigger. So, regardless of how many enemies there are in range, all of them will get hit when you use the secondary firing mode. However, with this, you can only hit each target once.
So, even if there’s one enemy in range when you use the secondary fire mode, that enemy won’t face multiple hits. That’s why you should only use the secondary fire for the Shotgun when you’re getting overwhelmed by the number of foes.
