The Armorer skill in Oblivion Remastered is used to repair weapons and armor. Despite its narrow function, Armorer is essential because of how quickly gear is damaged in combat. The skill dictates how much of your equipment’s health you can replenish using repair hammers. This is especially important for melee combatants, as their weapons and armor can take significant damage after clearing a dungeon or completing a quest.
Training in Armorer allows you to get the most out of every weapon and armor you carry. At low levels, the skill determines how quickly repair hammers break and how much durability is restored. Once Armorer reaches 50, players can repair enchanted items. Mastering the skill means never worrying about broken gear again. One way to level the skill quickly is to pay Armorer trainers to teach you the skill.
Every Armorer Trainer in Oblivion Remastered
The primary reason for leveling up Armorer is to reach skill level 50 (Journeyman) and gain the ability to repair enchanted items using repair hammers. Past level 75 (Expert), you can overrepair equipment to 125% of their durability, buffing the damage of weapons and protection of armor. Master Armorer Training
To receive master-level training from Gin-Wulm, you have to complete the ‘Armorer Training’ quest. Initiate the quest by speaking with Rohssan or Rasheda after reaching level 70 in Armorer. Then, speak to Gin-Wulm about training you. The master smith asks you a question. To answer, read The Armorer’s Challenge skill book. You can buy the book from Phintias at the First Edition in the Market District of the Imperial City.
How To Improve Armorer in Oblivion Remastered
The simplest way to level up Armorer is to carry repair hammers and use them frequently after combat. Damaged equipment is common, and with practice, the skill increases steadily. Keep extra hammers in your inventory, as lower skill levels will cause them to break quickly. To quicken the process, you can also hotkey repair hammers to have instant access to the repair menu, and repair every fallen enemy’s armor you come across, even if you aren’t going to wear it. Some items which increase the Armorer skill include:
- Rasheda’s Special: Heavy gauntlets purchased from Rasheda at Fire and Steel. It Fortifies Strength and Armorer by +5 pts.
- Apron of the Master Artisan: A shirt you can buy from Norbert Lelles at Lelles’ Quality Merchandise in Anvil. It Fortifies Armorer, Alchemy, and Security by +7 pts.
