Curses are special cosmetic items in Sea of Thieves that allow you to look a certain way. There are several curses that you can unlock throughout the game, and each of them allows your character to sport different looks. However, to find and unlock curses in Sea of Thieves, you need to fulfill specific requirements. In this guide, we will discuss all the curses available currently and how you can get them.

How To Find All Curses in Sea of Thieves
Here is a guide on obtaining every curse in Sea of Thieves.
1. Ghostly Curse
The Ghostly Curse was introduced as a part of the PVP ship battles in Season 8. You have to represent the Guardians of Fortune, and you must complete enough of their quests to raise your allegiance level with them to 100. After reaching the necessary allegiance, you will acquire the Blessing of Athena’s Fortune, which will turn you into a ghost.
2. Skeleton Curse
This was also introduced in Season 8 of the game. You can unlock the Skeleton Curse by reaching an allegiance level of 100 with the Servants of the Flame Faction. However, that’s not all. You will also need to reach level 75 with Reaper’s Bones. Once both of these criteria are met, you will be able to access a secret area deep underneath Reaper’s Bones. This is where the Ritual of the Bones will take place, giving you the Skeleton Curse. With it, you can now effectively look exactly like a skeleton.
3. Stone Curses
With Season 12 and the introduction of the Plunder Pass, you now have the opportunity to acquire the Creeping Stone Curse in Sea of Thieves. If you have purchased the Plunder Pass, you will get this curse automatically when you reach Renown level 20. At Renown level 90, Plunder Pass owners will also get another curse, the Solid Stone Curse.
4. Curse of the Order
One of the creepiest looking curses in Sea of Thieves, Curse of the Order unlocks when you receive the Fateful Memories commendation. To get this commendation, you need to acquire all commendations during the quest, The Cursed Rogue. There are six different commendations that you have to unlock as part of this quest to get the Fateful Memories commendation and acquire the curse.
5. Curse of the Sunken Sorrow
You can unlock the Curse of the Sunken Sorrow only when you get the Curse of the Sunken Kingdom commendation. For that, you need to read all 30 journals as part of the underwater Shrines and Treasures. Once you get the commendation, you can set off on the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom voyage. Completing this voyage earns you the curse.
6. Shores of Gold Curse
This is perhaps one of the most challenging curses in the game to unlock. For it, you will need to earn commendations from all quests within Sea of Thieves. In total, you will need to achieve 64 commendations to unlock the Curse, and you will need to replay some quests multiple times to get every commendation.
7. Legendary Curse
If you can become a Pirate Legend, you will unlock this particular curse in the game. To reach the legend status, you will need to reach Level 50 with the three trading companies. After you have claimed the promotions from all three companies, also ensure that you have 105 allegiances with Guardians of Fortune. When all these conditions are met, you can claim the curse in the Pirate Legends Hideout.
8. Ashen Curse
Sea of Thieves added a questline named Heart of Fire, which also introduced the Ashen Curse. You will need to complete this Tall Tale and receive every associated commendation to unlock this particular curse. One of those commendations can be earned only when you complete the specific quest thrice.
9. Storm Strike Curse
This Curse is available for purchase from the Pirate Emporium. You can get the Curse for 499 Ancient Coins. Or, if you purchase the Stormfish Chaser Clothing Bundle, the Curse is included in this bundle for 999 Ancient Coins.
