In Pokemon GO, Eevee has eight possible evolutions, aka Eeveelutions, each with its own special method. By using specific nicknames or building friendships with Eevee, you can choose the evolution you want.
In Pokemon GO, you have to use Candy to evolve Eevee. You can’t use the classic elemental stones for Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. Likewise, the usual methods for evolving into Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon don’t apply here.

Nicknames of All 8 Eevee Evolutions in Pokemon GO
You need to use a special nickname to evolve Eevee in Pokemon GO to achieve a specific evolution. Rename your Eevee with one of the names below, use 25 Eevee Candy, and it will evolve into the chosen form.
- Vaporeon: Rainer
- Jolteon: Sparky
- Flareon: Pyro
- Espeon: Sakura
- Umbreon: Tamao
- Leafeon: Linnea
- Glaceon: Rea
- Sylveon: Kira
However, note that you can use one nickname once per evolution. After that, evolution is random or depends on specific conditions.
How To Get All Eevee Evolutions in Pokemon GO
Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon
Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are the original Eevee evolutions in Pokemon GO. To get them, just feed Eevee 25 candies and use these nicknames: Rainer for Vaporeon, Sparky for Jolteon, or Pyro for Flareon.
After the first evolution, the results become random. So it’s not possible to know which evolution you’ll get next. Luckily, it’s inexpensive to evolve Eevee, and they’re common, so you can keep trying until you get the one you want.
Espeon and Umbreon
Espeon and Umbreon are the Gen 2 evolutions of Eevee. To get them, set Eevee as your buddy and walk 10 km. Then, evolve it during the day to get Espeon or at night to get Umbreon. Make sure to check the in-game sky to confirm the time, as it might differ from the real world.
Leafeon and Glaceon
To get Leafeon, you have to place a Mossy Lure at a PokeStop and evolve Eevee. To get a Glaceon, use a Glacial Lure. These items are available in the in-game store and, unlike regular lures, they attract specific types of Pokemon.
Sylveon
Evolving Eevee into Sylveon takes some patience, but it’s rewarding. You need to have Eevee as your buddy. Then earn 70 hearts together. You can do it fast by collecting as many hearts as possible each day. Once you see Sylveon’s shadow on the evolution screen, it’s ready to evolve!
The Most Powerful Eevee Evolution in Pokemon GO
As per stats, Espeon and Umbreon are the top Eevee evolutions. Espeon, a Psychic type, boasts a high CP and strong attack. Umbreon, a Dark type, shines with impressive defense and stamina. While Sylveon and Glaceon have decent stats, they don’t stand out in any one category.
