The launch of the iPhone 17 is not far away, but that won’t stop leaks from coming in. In fact, multiple smartphone specs have been leaked, including the likelihood of a 120Hz ProMotion display, a better chipset, new colors, and more.

In this article, we will discuss all the leaks that have surfaced till now and explain what they could mean for the upcoming smartphone.

All iPhone 17 Leaks So Far: Everything To Know

The upcoming iPhone 17 won’t be drastically different from its predecessor, the iPhone 16. However, it will address some of the pain points of the previous phone, which will make it a complete package for those waiting for a new smartphone at a reasonable price tag. Here’s all the leaked information on iPhone 17:

Design and Display

Apple tends to stick to one design for a while before introducing a new design. The iPhone 16 already introduced a designed camera array module, so a design change is unlikely. The leaks also say the same thing, and it comes directly from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, known for his accurate Apple leaks. Also, the iPhone 17 is rumored to have six new colors, which is not surprising given Apple’s previous track record.

However, there will be a major change in the display. The iPhone 17 is expected to include a bigger 6.3-inch 120Hz ProMotion display, which is a first for the base iPhone models.

Apple has always reserved the ProMotion display for its iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, but it may soon change. This leak comes from multiple sources, including Ross Young, a renowned display analyst, and Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

Hardware and Performance

The iPhone 17 is expected to include the upcoming Apple A19 chipset. The new SoC is expected to bring some decent improvements over the predecessor, but no details have been revealed yet. The leak was from Jeff Pu, a GF Securities analyst, which was later corroborated by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, so it is likely to be true.

Camera

Unfortunately, the iPhone 17’s rear camera probably won’t see any major changes, so expect the same 48+12MP setup. No major sources mentioned anything about any changes to the camera of the iPhone 17. However, there could be software and AI improvements to deliver better image processing capabilities.

Fortunately, the selfie camera will receive an upgraded 24MP sensor with a six-element lens for improved light capture. It was Jeff Pu who first revealed details about it, but Digital Chat Station also corroborated it later.

Battery and Charging

The iPhone 17 may include a slightly larger battery, but probably not big enough to show any meaningful difference. There’s no leak indicating a significant change in battery capacity. Apple may instead rely on the efficiency of the A19 chip to deliver a better battery life.

However, Jeff Pu did indicate a jump to 35W fast charging for the iPhone 17 and other phones in the 17 series lineup. This will be a significant increase from the current 20 – 27W charging speeds.

Final Thoughts

While the iPhone 17 leaks indicate several changes, the most important change is expected to be the 120Hz ProMotion display. It was one of the major pain points of the base iPhone models. Plus, the new iPhone is also expected to have new colors, which will certainly keep things fresh.
