Want to know what’s waiting for you underground in Subterra? Each layer in this Roblox game packs its own surprises, from basic materials to rare treasures. The deeper you go, the better the loot gets. But watch out, because the enemies get tougher too! If you’re just starting out or planning your next big mining expedition, knowing what’s in each layer will help you prepare better.

The game does a great job of making sure you can’t just rush to the bottom for the best stuff. You’ll need to work your way up, getting better tools and gear as you go. Think better pickaxes, bigger backpacks, and stronger weapons.

Ready to see what’s waiting in each layer? Let’s dig in!

The Dirt Layer

Everyone starts in the Dirt Layer (it’s like the tutorial area of Subterra). You’ll find the basics here: Dirt, Mossy Dirt, Stone, Coal, Copper, and Tin. Since it’s right near the surface, there’s no portal to worry about. When you get close to Y-35, you’ll meet your first monsters: Slimes and Zombies. Don’t worry, though, they’re pretty easy to deal with when you’re just starting out.

The Stone Layer

Once you hit Y-35, you’re in the Stone Layer. This is where things get a little interesting. Along with the usual stuff, you’ll find some really cool gems like Amethyst, Sapphire, and Emerald. You might even spot some Diamond if you’re lucky. The place looks pretty neat too, with Roots, Vines, and Stalactites everywhere. Just keep an eye out for Bomb Skeletons—those guys like to explode when they get close.

The Darkstone Layer

At Y-435, welcome to the Darkstone Layer. Finally, you’ll find your first portal (it’s at X-26 and Y-481 if you’re looking). This layer’s got some pretty unique stuff like Black Ice, Cobalt Ore, and something cool called Nocturnite. The monsters here mean business, though—you’ve got tough Darkstone Skeletons along with the usual Zombies.

Permafrost Layer

Made it to Y-723? Congratulations, you’ve reached the bottom layer! The Permafrost stretches all the way down to Y-1,366, and while there’s no portal here, it’s worth the trip. You’ll find special stuff like Colder Ice and Ice Blocks, plus tons of rare ores. Just be ready for a fight—those Zombies and Darkstone Skeletons are still hanging around, and they’re tougher than ever down here.

Make sure you’ve got good gear before heading deeper, and you’ll have a much better time mining in Subterra.
