2) Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven

The game takes place from 1930 to 1938 in Empire Bay. Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven is the first entry in the Mafia series. It set the stage for what was to become a highly acclaimed franchise. Launched in 2002, the game revolves around the story of Tommy Angelo in the world of organised crime. In Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, Tommy starts as a taxi driver and steadily shifts into becoming a mobster for the Salieri crime family. The game instantly became a cult classic and also had a Definitive Edition in 2020.

3) Mafia II

Mafia II followed the story of Vito Scaletta, a Sicilian immigrant and war veteran, climbing his way up the mafia ladder. Vito’s story spans eight years, from prison riots in Sicily to a war between the Clemente, Falcone, and Vinci families in the 1950s. The game was praised for its narrative ambition and complex characters. The main storyline also tackles subjects like war bonds, returning soldiers struggling to assimilate, hot rod culture, and the birth of rock ‘n’ roll.
