Learn how to defeat the Bombardier solo or as a team in Arc Raiders by avoiding its mortar attacks and targeting weak spots.
Bombardier is a lumbering ARC boss that roams in the open areas of every map in Arc Raiders. It is incredibly deadly to face in a head-on fight, as its mortar rounds can one-shot players behind cover. The boss is accurate enough to launch its salvo through windows to obliterate players hiding in buildings.
However, the Bombardier has a few critical weaknesses that can help raiders bring it down and loot it for some of the rarest resources in the game. So, grab two Wolfpack grenades if you have them and prepare to face the Bombardier.
How To Defeat Bombardier in Arc Raiders
Location
Although you can find multiple Bombardier spawns in each map, the best location to fight it is at the Plaza Rosa building in the Buried City map. Climb to the roof of the east building in Plaza Rosa and look down at the northern side to spot the Bombardier on Main Street. There is a chance that a Bastion spawns in the area instead of the Bombardier. The red circle marks the Bombardier’s location and the ideal firing position is marked by the white arrow on the map image above.

Boss Fight Strategy
There will be two Spotter drones following the Bombardier. If they hover toward you, shoot them down first since they target paint you for the Bombardier’s mortar barrage.
From your high vantage point on top of the building, you can easily chuck Wolfpack grenades or shoot the Bombardier. It takes only two Wolfpack grenades to kill the Bombardier. If you don’t have these powerful throwables, you can start shooting at the ARC boss from cover.
However, back off out of vision range after a few seconds of firing at the Bombardier as it will launch a mortar round at your last known location. If you are caught in its substantial blast area, it is almost guaranteed to one-shot you. As soon as the mortar round lands the boss is vulnerable. Head back to your earlier position to continue firing, but retreat shortly afterwards when the machine reloads.
If you don’t have Wolfpack grenades, it is best to team up with one or more players to bring down the Bombardier. Target its weak spots by shooting from multiple angles and keep it disoriented by destroying its respawning Spotter drones. You can also lob all the grenades you have picked up during the match to deal burst damage and likely hit weak spots with the AoE damage.
Weak Spots
The yellow cylinder on the Bombardier’s rear is its greatest weakness. Shooting at the cylinder will deal direct damage to the ARC machine as the area is unarmored. This is why flanking the boss with another player on the team is incredibly effective.
The yellow kneecaps on each of the Bombardier’s leg joints can be destroyed with sustained fire. Doing so will lower its mobility and reveal unarmored sections underneath. Shooting the exposed spots deals direct damage to the boss.

Looting
The fight is not necessarily over even after you have defeated the Bombardier, as opportunistic players and roaming ARC machines still pose a threat. As a precaution, deploy a smoke grenade before you start looting the destroyed Bombardier. The smoke will provide cover, lowering the chances of a player or an ARC machine sniping you while you’re vulnerable. Loot the central parts first, as they contain rarer resources compared to the legs.
