Locate the Flood Spill Intake and find the suspicious object to complete the Source of the Contamination quest in Arc Raiders.
Source of the Contamination is a quest given by Celeste, a faction leader and one of the traders in Speranza. The quest involves investigating the Flood Spill Intake and looking for suspicious objects in the Water Treatment Building. Source of the Contamination can be completed entirely on Dam Battlegrounds, and doesn’t require traveling to other maps. This guide highlights the exact location of the contamination and the rewards you can expect for completing the mission.
How To Begin Source of the Contamination Quest in Arc Raiders
Source of the Contamination is the 12th Celeste quest in Arc Raiders. To begin the mission, you must first complete her earlier quests, including Water Troubles, Root of the Matter, and Untended Garden. After doing so, visit Celeste in the Raider Den, select the “Quests” tab, and begin Source of the Contamination. You can set it as the active quest for convenience before heading topside to the Dam Battlegrounds.

Arc Raiders: Source of the Contamination Walkthrough
Source of the Contamination is a straightforward quest that you can complete while scavenging through the Dam Battlegrounds map. The quest assigns you three objectives:
- Reach the Water Treatment Building in The Dam
- Search for the Flood Spill Intake near the Swamp
- Investigate any suspicious objects
Reach Water Treatment Building
Your first task is to make your way to the Water Treatment Control area in the center of the map, just south of the Central Swamp Lift. Depending on your spawn location, you may have to make your way through heavily patrolled areas. Ideally, avoid engaging in firefights as much as possible to reach the water treatment plant quickly.
On the northern end of the Water Treatment Control, you will find a drainage area with water pooled in it. Run into the drainage area, called the Flood Spill Intake, and you will find a rusted barrel at its end leaking iridescent fluids into the water. Interact with the barrel to defuse the Suspicious Object and complete Source of the Contamination.
