The Snitch is a drone in Arc Raiders that will scan for players and calls reinforcements nearby. Here’s how you can counter it.
The Snitch in Arc Raiders is a drone that does no damage directly, but calls other drones nearby for reinforcements. These drones can get increasingly annoying during PvP, as they will call more drones in the area. You can find them almost anywhere on the map, and they are one of the most common enemies in the game. Here’s how you can counter it.
What Is a Snitch in Arc Raiders?
The Snitch is a common enemy in Arc Raiders, and is better off being shot as soon as you see it. They usually fly at a height that allows them to scan for players. Once spotted, they will call other ARC machines nearby to track you down. The Snitch calls down a number of Wasps and Hornets at your location.
However, like all ARCs, they have a weakness. They don’t react to sound, and won’t track you if you shoot them from a distance. However, if spotted, it is recommended to take cover and find a spot where you can shoot the other drones safely. The Snitch scans its surroundings with its front light, also indicating to the player the area that they should avoid.
If you’ve been spotted by a Snitch, immediately abandon the area and find a safer spot. Within seconds, at least 3-4 ARC machines will start hounding you down. Group up and find a building or an area where they cannot shoot you directly. While shooting them, be wary of other players too, as they might want to take you down along with the ARCs.
How To Counter a Snitch in Arc Raiders?
You can shoot the Snitch at its armor platers or three rotors to quickly take it down. Once you shoot two of its rotor blades, it can fall and destroy itself by falling on the ground. However, the sirens will keep blaring if it’s not destroyed.
In Arc Raiders, once a drone bursts into flames, it will eventually die down by itself. However, it is recommended to just take it down rather than wait for it to die. The time for a drone to be eliminated from its own flames is around 20–30 seconds.
The best guns against Snitches are LMGs and Long Range Rifles. You can also use a Snitch to call down more drones to complete your quests. Generally, Snitches are placed in areas where there are strategic openings to resource heavy areas and some open fields as well.
