Craft Power Rods or obtain them by recycling to make powerful equipment or open locked doors in ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders is filled with a variety of resources, all serving different purposes. As you head out to the topside to complete quests and take out Arcs, you also scavenge for resources to bring back with you to Speranza. These prove useful for crafting weapons, upgrading workstations, or even commencing the expedition project. Some items can be further recycled to obtain other resources. One item that is useful for both crafting and opening doors is the Power Rod.
In this article, we will look at how to find a power rod in ARC Raiders.
Power Rod Overview in ARC Raiders
Power Rods are one of the rarer items you will come across in ARC Raiders. They fall under the ‘Epic’ category of rarity and are more likely to be found behind locked rooms than out in the open. One of the more guaranteed ways, surprisingly, is to look for a rarer item that you can later recycle to receive a Power Rod. The item in question is the ‘Snap Hook,’ and apart from locked rooms, there are two other ways to attain it.
Quest Reward
One guaranteed way to get the snap hook is by completing the quest, ‘Lost in Transmission‘, which you will receive from the trader, Shani. The mission is straightforward, as you need to reach the top of a control tower in Spaceport. After finishing the quest, you will receive a Snap Hook as a reward once you head back to Speranza and speak with Shani. You can then recycle the Snap Hook to get the Power Rod.
Deck Reward
One of the more time-consuming but guaranteed ways is by spending your coins to receive rewards from the ‘Deck.’ You will find the Deck tab in the main menu. This acts as a type of battle pass. The first one is free for all players, with the following ones being redeemable using in-game currency. In the Deck, if you go to the third page, you will find two boxes to claim with the currency. The lower-right box will hold a Snap Hook. Once you earn enough currency to buy it, you can recycle it and get yourself a Power Rod.
Craft Power Rod
Lastly, you can choose to craft your own Power Rod. But for this, you will need to upgrade your Refiner workstation to Tier 3. Once that is in place, all you need are two of each ingredient, namely Advanced Electrical Components and ARC Circuitry.
How To Use Power Rod
Power Rods are quite useful for opening doors to compact rooms filled with loot. These rooms specifically require you to use a Power Rod to open them. One of these rooms is present in the Dam Battlegrounds map at the Power Generation Complex. Once you approach the room and use your Power Rod to open it, the item will be consumed, giving you access to a room with great loot.
