This Arc Raiders guide will go over where to find the Prickly Pear item and how to put it to use for upgrading Scrappy.
Arc Raiders has a ton of resources for you to find, but if you want Scrappy to be at the top of his game, the Prickly Pear is an upgrade material you desperately need. The Prickly Pear allows you to upgrade Scrappy up to Level 4, and is therefore an essential item for progression.
As important as the Prickly Pear may be, finding it is a whole different matter altogether. The game’s maps are large, and finding the Prickly Pear is no better than finding a needle in a haystack. If you’re desperately looking for this item to upgrade your Scrappy, our guide will help you find it.

Where To Find the Prickly Pear in Arc Raiders
Lucky for you, you can find the Prickly Pear across various locations in Arc Raiders. If you’re just starting out with the game, we recommend narrowing your search to the Dam Battlegrounds map. Here, head to the southern end of the map. This is directly south of Old Town.
Head to the open field south of Old Town and you’ll find a large field of cacti. This is where you’ll find the Prickly Pear. Since the spawns are random, you’ll have to be thorough with your search in these areas. Just follow the cacti and you’re bound to find the item. If you still can’t find it, there’s a good chance that raiders before you took it for themselves.
Another location you can try scouting is the Town Hall near the center of the Dam Battlegrounds map. This is a slightly riskier location to pursue, and your chances of being hounded by players or Arc are non-zero. We suggest keeping this one as a last resort.

How To Use the Prickly Pear in Arc Raiders
Once you’ve picked up a Prickly Pear, it is time to successfully attract it to bring it back to Speranza. Once you’re back home, follow the steps below:
- Load into the Arc Raiders main menu.
- Click on the Workshop tab at the top of your screen. This is the second tab from the left.
- Once you’re in the Workshop, you’ll see Scrappy. Look to the bottom of your screen, and you’ll see several slots. The leftmost slot is for Scrappy.
- Click on Scrappy, and you’ll then have the option to either claim resources or train Scrappy.
- Click on the Train button to upgrade Scrappy, and use your Prickly Pear, alongside Olives and a Cat Bed, to level him up to Level 4.
