Arkveld is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Wilds or MHWilds. The terrifying figure’s backstory has largely been kept under wraps from Capcom’s end.

“A monster known among the commission as the White Wraith, described as having unique chain-like appendages extending from its wings.
A species long thought to have been extinct, its ecology remains shrouded in mystery.”

Arkveld is a quadruped monster that has white fur and white scales. It seems to have armor plating and chain-like appendages off its wings. Its facial features include two tusks.

During the fight, Arkveld can “activate” its chains and deal devastating damage with them amidst a visual spectacle. The chains can also grab hunters or other monsters and pull them in.

What Role Does Arkveld Play in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Story?

Being the game’s flagship monster, Arkveld will have a pivotal role to play in Monster Hunter Wilds’ narrative. From the first four or five hours of the title seen in the previews, we know that the White Wraith attacked Nata’s village and caused him to flee.
