Son Goku is one of the strongest anime characters ever. He keeps getting stronger and has reached forms like Ultra Instinct, where he moves faster than light and can fight on a cosmic level. His strength has no limit, and he continues to improve with every battle.
Even with his darkness and earthquake powers, Blackbeard wouldn’t stand a chance against Goku. A single Kamehameha could take him out. Goku is just way too fast, strong, and skilled in battle. If Blackbeard tried to pull him in with his darkness, Goku could teleport away in an instant.
Goku’s biggest strength is that he never stops improving. Even if Blackbeard somehow fought back, Goku would just get stronger and beat him easily. He has fought gods and survived attacks that could destroy planets. Against someone like Blackbeard, it wouldn’t even be a real fight—Goku would finish it in seconds.
2. Saiki Kusuo (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)
Kusuo Saiki is a superpowered psychic with fantastic powers. He has the power to teleport to any place, read other people’s minds, become invisible, and even hypnotize others. Sure, Blackbeard could be powerful in his world, but he does not hold a candle to Saiki.
But if Blackbeard tried to use his dark powers or make earthquakes, Saiki could simply teleport away or petrify him by just looking into his eyes. If Blackbeard destroyed things around them, Saiki could fix everything in a second without any trouble.
Saiki can change reality however he wants. He could make Blackbeard believe that his Devil Fruit powers stopped working with his mind control, leaving him helpless in a fight. Blackbeard wouldn’t even know what was happening to him. Even though Saiki doesn’t like fighting at all, if he had to face Blackbeard, he could win easily without even trying hard. His psychic powers are just too strong for him to handle.
3. Saitama (One-Punch Man)
Saitama’s nickname, “One-Punch Man,” tells you everything about his power. He is one of many anime characters who could destroy Blackbeard. He can defeat any enemy with just a single punch, no matter how strong they are. Even enemies with god-like powers like super regeneration have been beaten by him easily. Although Blackbeard is a strong pirate with terrifying Devil Fruit powers, he’d find no victory against Saitama.
One punch is all it would take for Saitama to knock Blackbeard’s lights out if they decided to fight. Blackbeard’s powers and earthquake abilities wouldn’t hurt Saitama at all. What makes Saitama even more amazing is that he is basically impossible to injure. Even if Blackbeard used his most powerful attack, it wouldn’t leave even a tiny mark on Saitama. Blackbeard simply doesn’t have enough power to damage someone like Saitama.
The fight between them would be over almost instantly. Before Blackbeard could do anything serious, Saitama would end the battle with one casual punch, walking away bored as usual since he never gets a real challenge.
4. Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Gojo Satoru stands as one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. His ability, Infinity, creates an impenetrable shield around him that nothing can get through. When attacks come his way, they slow down more and more until they stop completely before ever touching him.
If Blackbeard tried to use his darkness powers against Gojo, they would be completely useless. The Infinity barrier would block everything Blackbeard threw at him. Even worse for Blackbeard, Gojo could use his ultimate technique called Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void. This would trap Blackbeard in a space where he would be frozen, unable to think or move.
Beyond his amazing powers, Gojo is extremely clever and quick-thinking. He would most likely toy with Blackbeard, making the fight last only as long as he wanted it to. Although he is one of the most feared pirates in his world, Blackbeard has no means to defend himself from Gojo’s incredible powers, guaranteeing that he never had a chance in their battle.
5. Rimuru Tempest (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)
On the surface, Rimuru looks like a cute little blue slime, but he is really one of the most powerful characters in all of anime. He did not start out as this strong. Over the course of the show, he gains a lot of overpowered abilities by devouring other entities, making him almost invincible in combat. He can heal from any wounds instantaneously, has powerful magical spells at his disposal, can manipulate time and space, and can, if he so desires, devour anything thrown at him.
If Blackbeard tried to attack Rimuru with his darkness or earthquake powers, they would not harm Rimuru at all. If Blackbeard attempted to pull Rimuru in with his darkness, Rimuru could turn the tables and absorb Blackbeard instead. Rimuru’s magical abilities far outmatch anything that Blackbeard’s Devil Fruits can do.
What makes Rimuru even more dangerous is his slime nature. He is able to bend his body to any shape or form and has resistance to physical damage. With his brilliant mind (Raphael, another skill), he can quickly figure out his enemies’ weaknesses and know exactly how to beat them. With his gluttony ability, he could take Blackbeard’s abilities if he wanted. He is clearly an anime character who could destroy Blackbeard.
6. Anos Voldigoad (The Misfit of Demon King Academy)
The Demon King of Tyranny, Anos Voldigoad, possesses power that goes far beyond what most can even imagine. His abilities are truly incredible. Anos is faster, stronger, and more knowledgeable than Blackbeard. He can regenerate, heal himself, and has immense magic abilities. He can also absorb energy and magic powers.
If Blackbeard tried to use his darkness or earthquake powers against Anos, they would have absolutely no effect. The Demon King’s magic is simply too powerful to be affected by Devil Fruits. If Blackbeard attempted any kind of attack, Anos could respond by simply erasing him from existence with barely any effort. Even in the extremely unlikely case that Blackbeard managed to harm Anos somehow, the Demon King would instantly heal himself and return even stronger than before.
The gap in their power levels is so enormous that Anos would view Blackbeard as nothing more than an insect. In a fight between them, Blackbeard wouldn’t even have time to understand what was happening before Anos completely destroyed him with overwhelming demonic power.
7. Mob (Mob Psycho 100)
Shigeo Kageyama, or Mob for short, is an overwhelmingly strong psychic whose full powers manifest at the peak of his emotions. Once his feelings fill to 100 percent, he wreaks havoc that few can match. His telekinetic abilities allowed him to manipulate objects without physically touching them, create energy shields around himself, and direct raw energy in incredible ways.
No matter what Blackbeard tried to use against Mob, be it a darkness or an earthquake attack, the psychic’s powers would be able to counter it all. Mob could simply lift Blackbeard into the air with his mind, crush him with invisible force, or block everything Blackbeard threw at him. When provoked to an emotional breaking point and goes into his “??? %” state, Mob could simply wipe the floor with Blackbeard in seconds.
Mob, on the other hand, is special because even though he is one of the most powerful espers in the world, he decides to be kind from the get-go, and his power is more of a burden because he does not utilize it unless he absolutely has to. But if Blackbeard really attacked Mob and innocent people, Mob would not hold back and would destroy him.
8. Kaido (One Piece)
Kaido is hailed as one of the most dangerous warriors in the entire One Piece universe. All across the world, he was known as the “Strongest Creature.”. His ability to take attacks and not take damage was a beautiful sight. He survived countless fights in which anyone else would have died, but when he takes control of his dragon form, he is almost impossible to slay.
What makes this matchup interesting is that Kaido and Blackbeard exist in the same world, giving Blackbeard a real fighting chance, unlike against characters from other anime. However, Kaido still holds major advantages. While Blackbeard could nullify his devil fruit if he managed to touch Kaido, there is nothing he can do against his physical abilities and Haki.
If they fought one-on-one, Kaido’s sheer physical strength and durability would probably be too much for Blackbeard to deal with. The experience that Kaido has fighting powerful opponents would be a huge plus for him, too. If the version of Kaido that fought Luffy in the Wano arc fought Blackbeard, there is not much that Blackbeard could do.
9. Ainz Ooal Gown (Overlord)
Ainz is an undead overlord with godlike magical powers. As an undead with the Overlord status, he comes with a vast repertoire of magic, including dark spells that can blight a soul entirely with a single casting—certainly enough to kill Blackbeard in moments.
Blackbeard’s darkness and earthquake Devil Fruit powers would be of no substance against Ainz’s overwhelming magic. With one of his many death spells, Ainz could kill Blackbeard instantly, ending the battle before it has even started. And even assuming Blackbeard could attack him, Ainz has far more than enough spells and items to defend against him.
Even more notably, Ainz possesses a tactical genius, making him highly dangerous. He methodically plans and strategizes everything for every single war and battle he goes to, figuring out the exact weak point of his enemy almost immediately. With his combination of overwhelming magical power and superior intelligence, Ainz would destroy Blackbeard without breaking a sweat (not like he could sweat, yohohoho).
10. Sosuke Aizen (Bleach)
Among the most dangerous villains in anime history is Sosuke Aizen. His most horrifying ability uses his Zanpakuto, Kyoka Suigetsu, to produce perfect illusions that deceive all five senses completely. This makes it impossible for the targeted person to discern between what is real and what is not. Outside of these illusions, Aizen’s physical strength is outstanding, outmatching even a Shinigami’s speed, and he has evolved to the point of near-immortality.
Against Aizen, the pirate literally stands no chance from the get-go. Even before Blackbeard gets a chance to activate darkness or quake powers, he would already find himself trapped in Aizen’s perfect illusions, swinging at empty air while the real Aizen attacks from the side.
Having an intelligent mind like Aizen makes him a bigger threat. His intelligence and planning skills are legendary, enabling him to stay many steps ahead of his foes. With Aizen’s massive spiritual pressure and combat powers, he should be able to crush Blackbeard’s Devil Fruits with little more than a thought, ending the fight without needing to tap into even a fraction of his full power.

Many characters throughout the anime universe could easily trump Blackbeard, one of the most feared pirates in One Piece. Characters like Goku and Saitama are so stacked in pure muscles that Blackbeard’s Devil Fruits would not stand a chance.
