The game is a souls-like open-world RPG from Japanese video game auteur, Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware. It is the first true open-world souls game set after the shattering of the Elden Ring.

You will have to fight various god-like entities throughout the open world of the Lands Between. The player has to reunite all the shards of the Elden Ring and take their place as the Elden Lord. 

The gameplay involves exploring the open world on foot or horseback, fighting powerful entities, and traversing through dungeons, catacombs, and caves. Players have to level up to fight more powerful enemies. The game got a DLC in June 2024 known as Shadow of the Erdtree which builds upon the game. 

A spin-off, Elden Ring Nightreign, will release on May 30, 2025. The spin-off will be available on PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The post-apocalyptic RPG was developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks in October 2008. The game is the vision of American video game auteur Todd Howard. He directed and executive produced the game. The narrative takes place in the year 2277, 200 years after the Great War between the United States and China. Due to this, survivors live in high-tech fallout shelters known as Vaults.

Players create a character known as the Lone Wanderer and experience him/her growing up. On the Lone Wanderer’s 19th birthday, their father, James, leaves the Vault without any explanation. The player character sets out on a journey to track down their father in the region around Washington D.C. 

The gameplay involves using weapons like guns, grenades, or melee weapons to fight enemies. The game also features Vault-Tec assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S) to pause time and target specific body parts. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, console, and cloud devices.

3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The game is developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks for current gen and last gen consoles. American video game auteur Todd Howard directed and executive produced the game. 

The player character, Dragonborn, must defeat the entity known as Alduin the World Eater to save the world of Skyrim. The game takes place 200 years after the events of Oblivion, in the northernmost province of Tamriel, known as Skyrim. The player must explore the open world, complete quests, and form alliances to fight the dragon and save Skyrim. The game is available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, console, and cloud devices.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the nineteenth main installment in this Nintendo franchise. The plot revolves around an amnesiac Link as he sets out on an adventure to piece together his memories. Link has to save Princess Zelda and stop Calamity Ganon from destroying the world of Hyrule. 

Players must explore Hyrule while defeating enemies, collecting items, and solving puzzles. Players can also complete various side quests throughout the world to restore peace to the kingdom. The game is a Nintendo console exclusive and is only available on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch systems.

5. Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a futuristic RPG developed and published by Polish developer CD Projekt Red. The game was released in 2020 for PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
