Demon Slayer is a beloved anime, captivating fans with its vibrant characters, intense action, and immersive world-building. Most arcs in the series are widely acclaimed, but the Entertainment District Arc particularly stands out in viewers’ minds.

By introducing new characters, exploring existing ones, and showcasing stunning scenes, this storyline offers many memorable elements. Hence, here are the 8 best moments from Demon Slayer’s Entertainment District Arc.

8) Tengen Uzui’s Introduction

Soon after losing Rengoku, both fans and characters were still mentally scarred from the events of the Mugen Train Arc. To perfectly counter this, Demon Slayer introduced Tengen Uzui, the flamboyant Sound Hashira.

Right from the beginning, Tengen impressed fans with his lavish attire and hilarious conversations with the main trio. His flashy personality and care for his three wives separated him from the other Hashira. This created an air of excitement for the new arc.

7) The Main Characters Disguise Themselves

The main characters’ primary duty in the Entertainment District Arc was to enter the world of courtesans, find the demon in hiding, and make contact with Tengen’s wives. However, since they couldn’t have done this as Demon Slayers, our favorite trio dressed up as courtesans handled by the attractive Tengen.

With hideous makeup meant to resemble women, this was one of the arc’s most hilarious components. Watching Tanjiro carry on his dedicated demeanor, Inosuke stunning others with his true beauty, and Zenitsu’s anger at being abandoned left fans continuously laughing.

6) Daki Is Not Upper Moon 6

While the first part of the Entertainment District Arc was lighter and helped us connect with the characters, the stakes were raised with Daki’s introduction. As an abusive courtesan who had driven many of her peers to death, fans were convinced she was Upper Moon 6.

However, since the main characters were able to deal with her relatively easily compared to their earlier battle with Akaza, it showed they had come a long way. Unfortunately, it was soon revealed that this was not completely the case. Daki was a formidable opponent, but not enough to threaten a Hashira.

The main firepower of the Upper Moon 6 was her brother Gyutaro. This twist stunned fans who realized how difficult victory for the main characters would be.

5) Zenitsu Uses Godspeed

One of the arc’s highlights came when Zenitsu showed just how immensely powerful he could be when burdened by a sense of duty. Zenitsu was always fast when unconscious, but it was not enough against Daki and her obi-based powers.

When the odds seemed stacked against them, he used his Thunder Breathing technique to unveil a move that surpassed his limits, titled Godspeed. While limited in use, it allowed him to go past Daki’s senses and even come extremely close to defeating her. This restored balance in a battle the demons seemed to dominate.

4) Tanjiro Activates His Mark

Tanjiro’s Demon Slayer Mark was something he believed he got by chance when trying to protect his sibling from an accident. Due to this, he didn’t trust the tales of legend that were prophesied about characters with this symbol.

However, fans knew there was more to it than what appeared, especially when Tanjiro reminded Daki of Yoriichi through his presence. Finally, when facing Gyutaro with an injured Tengen, his mark properly manifested, drastically increasing his strength. This boost allowed him to go toe-to-toe with an Upper Moon demon, a testament to his growth ever since losing Rengoku.

It also confirmed suspicions of Tanjiro’s connection to the legendary swordsman of the past who was the only one to defeat Muzan. This helped set up anticipation for the final battle of the series between the protagonist and the main antagonist.

3) Nezuko Goes Berserk

Nezuko’s most impactful moment of the arc came during her fight with Daki, where she was initially being overpowered. However, both fans and her opponent noticed the tides shifting as Nezuko’s regeneration and savageness were increasing.

This built up to her transformation to an adult form, formed out of her losing her senses and going berserk. In a fiery display of her physical prowess and Blood Demon Art, Nezuko stomped Daki and showed her true despair.

Unfortunately, this also meant that she was becoming a truer demon, which nearly made her kill a human. Thankfully, Tanjiro’s intervention helped to resist and calm her down.

2) Demon Siblings’ Backstory

Demon Slayer had already given glimpses of the tragic past of demons through previous confrontations. However, the series took it to another level with the backstory of Daki and Gyutaro, a tale riddled with disaster and malice.

Having been born into the Entertainment District, Gyutaro was heavily discriminated against for his appearance and demeanor. Forced to survive in brutal conditions, Ume (later known as Daki) was born and came as a ray of sunlight in his life. While trying his best to protect his beautiful sister, he was left distraught when a vengeful samurai nearly burnt her to death.

Despite being injured by this same samurai, Gyutaro killed him and tried to save his sister. Unfortunately, when no one was willing to help him, he ran into the demon Doma. With his blood and the “niceness of his heart”, this figure turned the siblings into demons, allowing them to survive and join Muzan’s ranks.

The backstory of the siblings showed the narrative depth of Demon Slayer, not excusing their actions but adding complexity to their characters. It helped fans understand how demons were not necessarily born evil but simply pushed to make bad choices because of their circumstances.

1) Demon Slayers Defeat Upper Moon 6

After an exhilarating battle against the demon siblings, our main cast was finally able to achieve victory. Tanjiro and Tengen work together to behead Gyutaro while Zenitsu and Inosuke could defeat Daki. The victory, paired with the bittersweet scene of antagonistic siblings making amends in the afterlife solidified this as an excellent arc.

In the aftermath of the battle, Nezuko used her abilities to heal everyone. This also led to the comedic scene where Tengen lay at the edge of death and his wives were arguing with each other before he was saved. Later when Obanai entered the district, he was surprised to hear of the Sound Hashira’s retirement and even more shocked at Tanjiro’s involvement in their victory.

This was a sign of relief for fans who were both excited and anxious throughout the arc. It displayed how far the main cast had come, underscoring the cost of winning. The series’ ability to balance emotional storytelling with hype moments and create anticipation for the overarching narrative also peaked with this moment.

Conclusion

Demon Slayer is a masterclass in storytelling, blending action, comedy, emotion, and character development. In the 8 best moments from Demon Slayer‘s Entertainment District Arc listed above, each of them has contributed to the different elements that help make the series great, staying in the hearts of fans years after its release.
