Now that the anime has finished airing, it’s safe to say that it surpassed all fan expectations and proved to be a worthy adaptation of the manga.
The story revolves around the dynamic duo of Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, better known as Okarun. After a chance interaction, the two develop a rivalry due to their respective obsession with aliens and the supernatural. However, in an attempt to prove the other’s belief wrong, the two inadvertently stumble upon the bizarre world of paranormal entities and an alien race known as the Serpo.
2) Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan
Blue Lock season 2 titled Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan, was the highly anticipated sequel to season 1, The second season of the anime had a rough start. The majority of the episodes seemed unfinished and had a poor animation quality, which made fans worried about the adaptation of U-20 arc. Fortunately, however, Studio 8bit managed to deliver a stellar adaptation of the beloved arc in the final episodes of season 2, with many even praising the studio for doing justice to the arc.

The narrative follows Yoshino Somei, a sheltered high school girl who belongs to a yakuza family. However, her life takes a drastic turn when her grandfather arranges her marriage to Kirishima Miyama, who is the heir of a rival yakuza clan. The marriage between the two was arranged in an attempt to unite the two families.
The relationship between Yoshino and Kirishima is unconventional, to say the least. In fact, Kirishima reveals his masochistic and twisted nature in their very first encounter, which in turn pushes Yoshino to formulate a plan to make Kirishima fall in love with her so that she could break his heart.
4) 365 Days to the Wedding
365 Days to the Wedding featured a heartwarming tale of office romance between two coworkers. However, their relationship had a pretty bizarre start. It all began when the lives of two coworkers, Takuya Ohara and Rika Honjoji, were disrupted by an announcement of a potential transfer from their workplace.
In order to avoid the transfer and protect their happily single lives, Takuya and Rika decide to fake a marriage for 365 days. However, little did they know, the path to their “pretend” marriage would change their lives forever. The series explores whether a relationship that was initially formed out of convenience between the two characters would blossom into something real.
5) Demon Lord 2099
The anime adaptation of Daigo Murasaki’s Demon Lord 2099 light novel series was produced by Studio J.C. Staff. Consisting of 12 episodes, the Demon Lord 2099 anime aired from October to December 2024, and has emerged as a fan favorite.
The story of the series takes place in a world where Earth has merged with the fantasy world of Alneath. This created a cyberpunk world where magic and technology went hand-in-hand. The narrative follows Veltol Velvet Velsvolt, a Demon Lord who was defeated by the hero Gram over 500 years ago. After being revived by his subordinate Machina Solege, Veltol finds himself in this new world, where he must adapt and work to regain his former power to conquer the world once again.
6) Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2
The second season of Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions featured the return of the eccentric and unorthodox detective – Ron Kamonohashi, and his partner from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department – Totomaru “Toto” Isshiki. After forming a partnership in season 1, the unusual duo proved to be adept at solving cases together.
This season introduces a brand-new enemy for Ron – Milo Moriarty, the head of the House of M. It is an infamous crime syndicate that was behind Ron’s expulsion from the Detective Training Agency. However, ten years after her passing, Keisuke’s life takes an unexpected turn.

Even though he was skeptical at first, Keisuke’s world brightens once he confirms her identity. While he revels at the thought of his family being complete once again and making new memories with them, Takae’s return as Marika comes with obvious drawbacks and challenges.
However, as controversial as the plot of the series sounds, it does an exceptional job at delivering a heartwarming story while dealing with themes of love, loss, and acceptance.
8) Ranma ½
Animated by Studio MAPPA, the 2024 version of the classic Ranma ½ anime reimagines the vintage martial arts romantic comedy series for a modern audience. The plot follows Ranma Saotome, a teenage martial artist afflicted with a curse that turns him into a girl whenever he is splashed with cold water. On the other hand, Ranma’s father Genma Saotome, who also suffers from the curse, transforms into a panda when splashed with cold water.
