In contrast to the small dwarves in Dressrosa, there are gigantic characters in the series that instantly grab the attention of fans. These characters come from all races, with a few being very young and others existing even during the Void Century.
Here are the 8 tallest characters in One Piece, ranked. Please note that we are not considering any characters that do not have distinctive identities like the Sea Kings or those created artificially.

8) Yeti Cool Brothers (Height – 42.5 metres)
The Yeti Cool Brothers are an enigmatic yet integral part of the One Piece world. Consisting of Rock and Scotch, these fearsome siblings are a mysterious type of giant and were employed by Caesar Clown in the Punk Hazard Arc.
Due to their furry bodies and stature, the brothers were able to comfortably withstand the icy colds of Punk Hazard. They don’t show much personality but are willing to faithfully carry out Caesar’s orders for compensation. The large difference in sizes is mainly seen when one of their footprints is bigger than Brook’s, and they are also able to hold Franky with just one hand.
7) Little Oars Jr. (Height – 60 metres)
Little Oars Jr. was Whitebeard’s subordinate who played a memorable part in the Marineford War to save Ace. He is named as a tribute to his ancestor, Oars, and is the captain of the Little Pirates, an ironic title.
Contrary to his fearsome appearance, Little Oars Jr. is a very caring person determined to rescue Ace. For its sake, he lifted entire marine battleships and pushed Whitebeard’s ship on his own. This green giant caused heavy destruction with his large sword and is a figure we would love to see in the series again.
6) Hatcha (Height – 66.8 metres)
Hatcha is a more recent character who appeared in One Piece during the Wano Arc. As a member of the Beasts Pirates, Hatcha is a distinctive humanoid who is much taller than other giants. He was originally a test subject at Punk Hazard but was recruited by Kaido following a failed experiment.
With his large club, Hatcha loves fighting but is very careless while going on a rampage. Due to this, many crewmates try to control him but fail miserably. During the Wano Arc, Hatcha sees Franky as a toy and chases him, displaying his sheer largeness.
5) Oars (Height – 67 metres)
Little Oars Jr. got his name from Oars, who is noted to be much taller than him. Oars was a giant that existed 500 years before the current timeline of One Piece. He was known for his ferocious nature and being from a particularly evil group.
The most impressive feature of Oars is his nickname – the Continent Puller. He had various countries and islands under his control, gaining a reputation for his incomparable strength. After his death, he was revived by Gecko Moria for the sake of fighting Kaido. Even as a zombie, Oars possessed a strong will and was a huge obstacle to the Straw Hats.
4) Wadatsumi (Height – 80 metres)
Wadatsumi is a giant-sized Fish-Man who was a member of the Flying Pirates under Decken. However, after Decken’s betrayal and defeat, he ends up being part of the Sun Pirates. Wadatsumi is extremely dedicated and loyal, often having a childlike demeanour.
He is easy to manipulate because of his gullibility but is kind on his own. His immense size has caused him to destroy entire towns out of carelessness. Wadatsumi is able to stand his ground against large creatures such as Krakens and makes huge characters like Shirahoshi look small in comparison.
3) Sanjuan Wolf (Height – 180 metres)
Sanjuan Wolf is so huge and threatening that he is called the Colossal Battleship and erased from history. He was on level six of Impel Down before being freed by Blackbeard and joining his crew. Wolf’s Huge-Huge Fruit contributes in great part to his giant size, allowing him to tower over the likes of Oars.
He is also mentioned to be the same size as the entire Marine Headquarters in Marineford. His atrocities are unknown, but they’re bad enough for the World Government to try wiping him out. Despite this, Wolf seems to be a relatively naive character. He is loyal to Blackbeard and stays in Hachinosu as one of his Ten Titanic Captains, but is yet to be seen completely in action.
2) Laboon (Height – 400 metres)
The adorable and friendly whale Laboon is one of the biggest creatures in One Piece, being so big that he’s called an island whale. He is capable of swallowing entire ships and letting them leave through his complex inner structure.
Laboon’s past is an emotional one where he befriended Brook and the Rumbar Pirates during their travels. While promising to meet them and waiting for decades, the pirate group met a tragic end and couldn’t hold up their end. However, after befriending the Straw Hat Pirates and Brook eventually joining them in his skeleton form, fans are hopeful to see a happy ending to this tale.
1) Zunesha (Height – 10,000 metres)
The Naitamie-Norida Elephant Zunesha is the largest and oldest existing creature in all of One Piece. Being over 1000 years old and two kilometres in length, its height only adds to its intimidating figure.
Zunesha is known for its connection with Joy Boy during the Void Century and for carrying the island of Zou on its back. While its past is a mystery, Zunesha hosts entire civilizations and shares a close bond with them. With nothing but a single swing of its trunk, Zunesha is able to wipe out whole fleets of ships.
Its most memorable moment was noticing Luffy’s Devil Fruit Awakening, one which it compared to Joy Boy. As the series proceeds, we cannot wait to find out more about this enigmatic animal.
