The Worst Generation Supernovas are some of the most powerful characters in One Piece. Let’s rank them from weakest to strongest.

The New World of One Piece introduced us to a group of remarkable pirates who shook the very foundations of the world government. Known as the Worst Generation, these twelve pirates each have bounties of over 100 million berries. They all came from different parts of the world but have made their mark on the Grand Line in one way or another.

From tactical geniuses to brute force powerhouses, the Worst Generation Supernovas represent the new era of piracy. They consist of the eleven super rookies who were at Sabaody Archipelago before the war at Marineford and one other who goes on to become a Warlord of the Sea, and ultimately, a Yonko. They consist of nine captains of crews and two crewmates from some of the crews.

This article lists these notorious pirates from the least powerful to the most powerful, considering their skills, fighting abilities, and the overall danger they posed. The power levels in One Piece can change as new information comes out, but this ranking shows what we know right now about these legendary pirates.

12. Capone Bege

Bege in Zou (Image via Toei Animation)

Capone “Gang” Bege may rank at the bottom of our Worst Generation Supernovas list, but don’t mistake this for weakness. The captain of the Fire Tank Pirates possesses the Castle-Castle Fruit (Shiro Shiro no Mi), allowing him to transform his body into a living fortress. Inside this fortress, Bege maintains an entire army of subordinates, giving him impressive tactical advantages in battle.

What places Bege lower on this list isn’t his strategic brilliance, which is considerable, but rather his combat capabilities when compared to the other Supernovas. His strength lies in planning and firearms rather than raw fighting power. This was evident during the Whole Cake Island arc, where despite his meticulous planning against Big Mom, he struggled when facing her directly. His bounty was 138 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Bege’s greatest asset is his mind. His mafia-like organization and ability to coordinate complex operations make him dangerous in different ways than direct fighters. While he may not win in a straightforward brawl with the others, his ability to turn his home turf into a battlefield makes him a formidable member of the Worst Generation.

11. Urouge

Urouge as seen in the One Piece anime (Image via Toei Animation)

The “Mad Monk” Urouge stands out among the Worst Generation Supernovas for his unique ability and mysterious background. Captain of the Fallen Monk Pirates, this towering figure from a sky island possesses a Paramecia-type devil fruit that converts damage taken into physical strength—essentially becoming stronger the more he’s hurt.

Despite his lower ranking, Urouge has accomplished what few others have achieved, and that is defeating one of Big Mom’s Sweet Commanders, Snack. This feat alone demonstrates his tremendous potential and endurance. However, he was subsequently defeated by Charlotte Cracker, although he was drained from his earlier fight with Snack. His bounty was 108 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

What keeps Urouge from ranking higher is the relative lack of information about his full capabilities and the apparent ceiling to how much damage he can convert into strength. His fighting style requires taking punishment first. This becomes problematic against opponents who can deliver overwhelming force (like Kizaru) before his power conversion reaches effective levels. Still, his enigmatic smile and religious undertones add layers of intrigue to a character who may yet reveal greater powers as the series progresses.

10. X Drake

“Red Flag” X Drake represents a fascinating case among the Worst Generation Supernovas. Captain of the Drake Pirates and secretly a member of the covert SWORD organization, Drake possesses an Ancient Zoan-type dinosaur devil fruit. This allows him to transform into an Allosaurus. His bounty was 222 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

As an undercover Marine, Drake has received military training that gives him tactical advantages many pirates lack. His sword skills, along with his ability to transform into a dinosaur, make for a fighting style that mixes strength with technique. In the Wano arc, Drake demonstrated his impressive talents in battle against Queen, who is one of Kaido’s top commanders. He partnered with the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance as a means of completing his mission. He fought alongside Apoo against CP0 and alongside Zoro against Apoo.

What prevents Drake from ranking higher is his somewhat mixed combat record. Most of his fights don’t end in overwhelming victory or clear defeat. His importance as a spy for the Marines was one of the reasons why his underwhelming strength is disappointing. While his Zoan fruit grants tremendous physical strength and durability, it lacks the reality-warping capabilities of Paramecia or Logia types. Nevertheless, his intelligence, combat training, and dinosaur transformation make him a formidable opponent among the Worst Generation.

9. Basil Hawkins

Basil Hawkins from One Piece

The mysterious “Magician” Basil Hawkins combines voodoo-like abilities with tarot card divination. This is one of the most unique fighting styles among the Worst Generation Supernovas and One Piece as a whole. Captain of the Hawkins Pirates, his Straw-Straw Fruit (Wara Wara no Mi) lets him manipulate straw as a weapon or armor. He can create voodoo straw dolls and redirect damage taken through the dolls to whoever he has connected them to. He can hold up to ten dolls at a time, and there is a limit to the amount of damage he can transfer. This makes him exceptionally difficult to defeat conventionally.

Hawkins’s analytical approach to combat makes him dangerous beyond his devil fruit. He calculates his survival probability before any battle, rarely entering fights he cannot win. This approach served him well during the Beast Pirates alliance, where he secured a position of authority under Kaido. His bounty was 249 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

His lower ranking stems from his performance against Killer and Zoro during the Wano arc. Their battles showed limitations to his abilities when facing top-tier opponents who can overcome his doll supply or overcome his damage transferability. While his damage-transferring abilities and straw transformations make him formidable, his reliance on preparation and calculation makes him vulnerable. Especially when surprised or overwhelmed by raw power that exceeds his countermeasures.

8. Scratchmen Apoo

Scratchmen Apoo, the “Roar of the Sea,” brings one of the most creative Devil Fruit powers among the Worst Generation Supernovas. As captain of the On Air Pirates, Apoo’s Tone-Tone Devil Fruit (Oto-Oto no Mi) turns his body into a living instrument. It grants him the ability to create sound-based attacks that can slice opponents or cause explosive damage.

Apoo’s unpredictable fighting style makes him particularly dangerous, as his music-based attacks are difficult to defend against without knowing the specific triggers. This was demonstrated when he managed to “injure” even Kizaru during the Sabaody Archipelago incident. This indicates that he can “harm” even admiral-level opponents. His bounty was 198 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

What limits Apoo in this ranking is his performance during the Onigashima raid. During his battles, opponents who understood his abilities could counter them effectively. His tendency to betray allies for self-preservation also implies that he relies more on cunning than raw power. While his long-range sound attacks give him unique offensive capabilities, his defensive measures seem less developed compared to other Supernovas, who can take significant punishment and continue fighting.

7. Killer

Killer from One Piece

“Massacre Soldier” Killer stands unique among the Worst Generation Supernovas as one of the members without a devil fruit ability and a non-captain in the group. As Kid’s right-hand man, Killer has earned his place through exceptional combat prowess with his hand scythes and loyalty to his captain. His bounty was 162 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

During the Wano arc, Killer proved his worth a couple of times. While it was not the normal Killer, but as Hitori Kamazo, he still managed to hold his own against Zoro for a while. More impressively, he later joined the rooftop battle against Kaido and Big Mom, where he managed to damage the Yonko Kaido with his sonic scythe technique. He fought and won against Basil Hawkins even when Hawkins used his captain, Kid, as one of his puppets.

What places Killer at this position is his balance of speed, technique, and tactical intelligence. Even without a devil fruit, he is able to face some of the strongest in the show. While he lacks the raw destructive power of some higher-ranked Supernovas, his precision with his scythes makes him scary in close-quarters combat. His partnership with Kid is also one of the most heartwarming parts of his character.

6. Eustass Kid

Eustass Captain Kid from One Piece

The Eustass “Captain” Kid embodies the raw, destructive potential that defines many of the Worst Generation Supernovas. With his magnetic powers from the Magnet-Magnet Fruit (Jiki Jiki no Mi), Kid can attract, repel, and control metal objects. He can create devastating weapons and armor from the metal in his surroundings. His bounty was 315 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Kid’s tenacity is one of his greatest qualities. He has challenged Shanks, survived his confrontation with Kaido, and lost an arm to Benn Beckman of the Red Hair Pirates. Still, he keeps chasing his dreams with determination. In the Onigashima raid, he showed his power by teaming up with Trafalgar Law to battle Big Mom. His contributions in the fight made it possible for them to put the Yonko down.

His magnetic abilities have evolved throughout the series. He has improved from simple metal attraction to creating complex things like giant metal arms and even electromagnetic cannons. What prevents Kid from ranking higher is his one-dimensional approach to combat. He relies greatly on overwhelming force rather than strategy. The things that he can achieve with his abilities are boundless, and if he relied more on carefully created structures, he could be a lot stronger. Despite this, his destructive power and determination make him one of the most threatening pirates of his generation.

5. Jewelry Bonney

Often underestimated among the Worst Generation Supernovas, Jewelry Bonney possesses one of the most powerful Devil Fruits with her Age-Age Fruit (Toshi Toshi no Mi). As captain of the Bonney Pirates, she can manipulate the age of anything. This includes humans, animals, and objects. This ability has greater implications far beyond direct combat. Her bounty was 140 million berries when she was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Bonney’s abilities allow her perfect infiltration by altering her appearance. She has used this ability to penetrate highly secure locations like Mary Geoise. Her ability is incredibly unique and could be devastating in the right hands. Although she has not demonstrated advanced combat skills like the others, the possibilities of her ability make her rank high on the list. Most of her appearances are in the Egghead Arc, and in the manga, she has a lot of appearances in fights against the Five Elders.

While her direct combat abilities aren’t as flashy as others, the potential applications of her age manipulation are vast. She could theoretically incapacitate opponents by aging them upwards or downwards. Her evasion of the World Government despite their determined pursuit demonstrates exceptional survival skills. Bonney’s placement reflects not just current shown power but also the potential of her abilities and her increasing role in the mysteries of the One Piece world.

4. Trafalgar D. Water Law

The “Surgeon of Death,” Trafalgar Law, possesses perhaps the most versatile Devil Fruit among the Worst Generation Supernovas. His Op-Op Fruit (Ope Ope no Mi) creates “operating rooms” where he can manipulate anything within the boundary. This essentially allows him to rewrite the rules of reality in his domain. His bounty was 200 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Law’s genius-level intellect complements his Devil Fruit perfectly. His medical understanding allows him to attack enemies’ organs with precision. Law’s clever application of his ability allowed him to put Donquixote Doflamingo on the ropes during the Dressrosa arc. In the Wano arc, Trafalgar Law teamed up with Eustass Kid to take on the Yonko, Big Mom. He showed remarkable growth from what he used to be with his techniques and usage of his techniques. Teleporting using the rubble from the battle was a standout moment in the fight.

What makes Law especially dangerous is the versatility of his abilities. From teleportation to cutting body parts to removing internal organs, he has a wealth of abilities. His current bounty of 3 billion berries shows how much the World Government sees him as a threat. His stamina and the strain of increasing the range of his techniques limit him in extended battles. Law’s combination of intelligence and his powerful devil fruit makes him one of the most formidable pirates in the Worst Generation.

3. Roronoa Zoro

Though not a captain, Roronoa Zoro has earned his place among the elite of the Worst Generation Supernovas. As the future World’s Greatest Swordsman, Zoro’s dedication to his craft has produced fighting abilities that rival or surpass many devil fruit users despite having no devil fruit powers himself. His bounty was 120 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Zoro’s growth throughout the series has been remarkable, peaking in his ability to use all three types of Haki, including the rare Advanced Conqueror’s Haki. During the Wano arc, he demonstrated his true potential by scarring Kaido with Kozuki Oden’s Enma blade. He also temporarily held back a combined attack from two Yonko, a feat that would leave many seasoned veterans down for the count. In the same Wano arc, he defeated Wildfire King, the second-in-command of the Beast Pirates.

His mastery of the Three Sword Style (Santoryu) and development of the Nine Sword Style (Kyutoryu) through his Asura technique create an overwhelming offensive capability. What places Zoro this high is not just his current strength but also his limitless potential for growth. With each battle, Zoro becomes significantly stronger. For a dream as big as his and a place as dangerous as the Grand Line, this is an excellent thing.

2. Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard)

Blackbeard as seen in anime (Image via Toei Animation)

Marshall D. Teach, known as “Blackbeard,” stands as perhaps the weirdest figure among the Worst Generation Supernovas. Unlike the others who rose to prominence simultaneously, Blackbeard orchestrated his emergence from the shadows. He patiently executed a plan that he had spent decades planning.

Blackbeard has achieved what was thought impossible. He wields two Devil Fruits simultaneously. His Dark-Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi) negates others’ Devil Fruit powers and absorbs everything into darkness. His Tremor-Tremor Fruit (Gura Gura no Mi), stolen from Whitebeard, creates earthquakes that can destroy entire islands or trigger tsunamis. After the battle at Onigashima, Trafalgar ran into Blackbeard and was defeated by him. He also overpowered Boa Hancock when he attacked the Amazon Lily.

His cunning surpasses even his tremendous power. From infiltrating Whitebeard’s crew to manipulating the World Government, Blackbeard plays the long game masterfully. His willingness to take calculated risks made him rise to the Yonko status faster than any pirate in history. Blackbeard remains one of the most dangerous and unpredictable members of the Worst Generation.

1. Monkey D. Luffy

One Piece

Standing atop our ranking of the Worst Generation Supernovas is none other than “Straw Hat” Monkey D. Luffy. The captain of the Straw Hat Pirates has transcended ordinary piracy to become “Joyboy.” This is the personification of freedom in the One Piece world, with a current bounty exceeding three billion berries and the title of Yonko. His bounty was 300 million berries when he was introduced at Sabaody Archipelago.

Luffy’s greatest strength lies in his adaptability. His Gum-Gum Fruit, revealed to be the legendary Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika, grants him the ability to manipulate his body in ways limited only by his imagination. Luffy has learned all three types of Haki, including the very rare Advanced Conqueror’s Haki. He has learned how to channel that into Ryuo, as seen in his battle against Kaido.

What truly separates Luffy from the rest of the Worst Generation is his inexhaustible will. He has beaten more than one warlord, challenged admirals, and even bested Kaido, the “strongest creature in the world.” His capacity to inspire loyalty and make alliances has changed the entire world power dynamic. As the series builds toward its endgame, Luffy is the embodiment of the Pirate King himself.

Conclusion

The Worst Generation Supernovas represent the revolutionary wave reshaping the One Piece world. From Capone Bege’s tactical genius to Luffy’s world-altering power, each brings unique abilities and ambitions to the table. As the series continues, the power dynamics among these remarkable characters continue to shift. Some form alliances, others become enemies, but all remain central to the unfolding story of One Piece

As fans, we can only watch in anticipation as their journeys continue to unfold across the dangerous waters of the New World. For now, though, Luffy is the strongest, but as the series progresses, who knows how things will end up?
