The Boruto manga has progressed considerably since its inception. We have a new installment of the manga series. This installation explores the events after Kawaki and Boruto had grown up. Furthermore, the stakes have skyrocketed, which makes for an entertaining reading experience.

Newer characters have been introduced as the series progresses. One of them is Shibai Otsutsuki. He is an Otsutsuki God who has transcended to a point where he no longer needs a physical body. There are plenty of theories connecting Boruto’s Jogan to the Otsutsuki.

Boruto’s eye has been shrouded in mystery. Despite being the protagonist, we don’t know much about his doujutsu. Therefore, the air of mystery surrounding it is another reason why fans have connected it to the Otsutsuki God.

It is important to note that these are theories and therefore, we urge fans to take this with a grain of salt. Therefore, fans need to wait for the release of the subsequent chapters which will confirm the theories posed in this article. In the meantime, let’s take a look at who Shibai is and how he is connected to Boruto’s Jogan in the manga series.

Shibai Otsutsuki was introduced in Boruto chapter 75 titled “The Domain of Gods”. He is an Otsutsuki God who is so powerful that he transcended beyond the physical form. Shibai no longer needs a physical body. Therefore, fans have reason to believe he could be the final antagonist in the series. Fans are interested in how Shibai managed to become a God. There is an interesting explanation in the manga for his ascension.

Shibai constantly resurrected himself using Karma. Therefore, he consistently consumed Chakra Fruits. Therefore, his powers improved considerably, and eventually, he became a God. Shibai also has access to techniques called Shinjutsu.

These are divine techniques that allow him to quite literally alter reality without any hand seals. Furthermore, Shibaican see past and future events. These are just some of his abilities in the Boruto manga. However, the shocking bit is that he is connected to Boruto, at least as per the theories put forth by fans of the series.

It is important to know everything about the Jogan before we dive into Shibai’s connection to the protagonist. This is a dojutsu that has been shrouded in mystery ever since it was introduced. One of the few things we know about this eye is that Momoshiki called it “troublesome”. Therefore, it is clear that this eye is rather powerful and is capable of great things. Additionally, the anime gave us a few basic features of the eye.

Boruto can see the flow of chakra just like the Byakugan. Additionally, this eye can also perceive the invisible barriers that connect various dimensions. These are some of the key features of the Jogan. Now, let’s see how Boruto, his Jogan, and Shibai are connected in the manga series.

How Are Boruto, His Jogan, and Shibai Otsutsuki Connected?

Before we dive in, it is important to note that the following content is based on fan theory. One of the main theories that has made its rounds is Boruto being a vessel for Shibai. We know that Shibai Otsutsuki no longer has a body. Therefore, there is a possibility that the protagonist is acting as a medium for Shibai to exert his will. Shibai Otsutsuki being a God probably wanted order and balance on Earth.

Given the increasing number of Otsutsuki clan members entering and the human race’s inquisitiveness, the Otsutsuki God could be attempting to restore order through Boruto. This also explains Boruto’s appearance after becoming a full-blown Otsutsuki. The horn on his head resembles Shibai’s. Furthermore, that side of his face also contains the Jogan.

If we take a look at one of the panels from the Boruto manga, we can see that Shibai had numerous Jogans surrounding him. Therefore, the eye connects Boruto and Shibai in the overarching story. Therefore, Boruto could be a medium for Shibai to assert his will and create the circumstances that would suit him. Furthermore, fans have reason to believe that Shibai could be doing this because of his ability to see the future.

Perhaps, there exists a future wherein the Otsutsuki have been wiped out. This could explain why Shibai is using Boruto to get what he wants in the anime series.

Shibai’s Role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

It’s difficult to determine his role in the manga series at the moment. However, we know that he will be important for the series to progress. There is a strong possibility that he could be the final antagonist in the manga. Boruto could potentially challenge him and take him on if Shibai was the final antagonist. However, there are plenty of twists and turns and it’s difficult to say how things will progress. That being said, the aforementioned theory has compelling points. Shibai and Boruto’s connection will be key in the manga. Furthermore, the Jogan’s powers will also play an important role in Boruto’s overall combat potential.

Conclusion

This is an interesting theory that ties Boruto to Shibai through the Jogan. This theory hasn’t particularly accounted for all variables. That being said, there is a decent chance that the upcoming set of chapters could reveal this connection as the story progresses. We will surely see more of the Otsutsuki God. That being said, it’s hard to predict the scenarios involving the two. The story is hyping Shibai to be the final antagonist of the series.

However, based on how things stand at the moment, Boruto is nowhere near Shibai’s level. Fans also anticipate Shibai potentially resurfacing on Earth in a manner similar to how Kaguya Otsutsuki did. Boruto’s role could be similar to the Black Zetsu. Once again, these are fan theories posed by fans of the series. Only time will tell whether or not these events will transpire in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
